SPECIAL POPULATION PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION 2
I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. It was something that I was so passionate about. I
assumed that teaching would consist of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, Art, Music. Never in
my wildest imagination did I think about individuals with disabilities such as visual, hearing,
deafness, and mobility impairments. And then there are individuals that have chronic illnesses
like ALS, MS, MD, AIDS, and Cancer. Then there is a category for individuals with specific
ADD, ADHD. This seemed a bit overwhelming to me because I had never thought of becoming
a teacher and facing any of these special needs students in a class that I was teaching. Special
It is my personal belief that Educators will never know how to properly teach students

accomplish.

spectrum and learn new things from him each and every day. I want to be the voice for those that
do not speak. I want to be the one that makes a difference in the lives of future students. I want to
see them succeed. I want them to love themselves for who they are.
