Introduction
Surely the problem stunning scholars on sex and dating. Does not affect persistence in
academy and has no phycological connections. Well your wrong, the monograph I selected titled
Sex In men and Women by Theodor Reik. Reik gives us the reader an insight on the
phycological drive that both men and women possess. Knowing and understanding this concept
tells why we do what we do in sexually and how this will affect our persistence in the academy.
Discussion
The genre of this monograph is the psychology of the average man and women, bit the
sexes without again and again adding that there is something of the most feminine in the most
masculine man and something of the most masculine in the most feminine women. The main
center point being how different the phycology of the average man and women.
In Today’s class we focused on genre. More importantly we discussed that genres are a
kind of writing that create expectations and how these can be used in facilities research. IN the
according to Bullock (2016) identifying your genre and asking yourself does it require a certain
organization, does it affect your tone, does it require formal or informal language, or does it have
any design elements. These questions will help your complete facilities research using genres.
With that being said there are three types of academic genres which we covered and include
mono graphs, anthologies, and compilations. All of these sources are chuck full of knowledge,
and can be used to further enhance the knowledge you already have.

In this book, Theodor Reik has a tremendous backing on the subject of psychoanalyst.
Having obtained his degree in psychology rom the university of Vienna in 1912. Within Reiks
respective field, he was voted in 1946 as the president of the National Association for
Psychoanalytic Psychology. He went on to write many psychoanalytic articles in his time. Some
of his best-known works were included in a collection of four papers which was Das Ritual,
psychoanalytic Studies (19282; Ritual, Psychoanalytic Studies, 1931). He also had more than 50
Pathos
The author does not use pathos because he takes a very clinical approach to the topic.
This is due to the author only using terminology that professional in the field of psychoanalytic
use. For example, he uses self-punishment, self-sabotage, and self- damaging (p.96) according to
Sex in Men and Women. The actual book is just jam packed with factual information and no lick
infer that there is no pathos being used throughout the entire book.
Logos
The author is providing a psychoanalytical point of view regarding Sex in Men and
Women. The actual format in which this book is written is based on the psychoanalytical field of
study. According to Reik (1960) dealing worth the psychology of the average man and women,
