Teaching Practice Task 1: Weekly Reflections


Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the content courses EPC 3403 – Practicum 3a,
EPR 3003 – Mathematics for the Primary School Teacher and EPR 3203 – Mathematics Teaching
Methods for the Primary School Teacher. It is a reflection of how you have applied the theories learned
in the college courses.

Objective: Write your weekly reflection in paragraph form (in a blog on your wix website). You should
complete a reflection of a min. of 150 words for each week. Remember, it is your personal account of
your thoughts, feelings and reactions during your time in the school.

You can use this table to make notes / jot down ideas during TP. It would also be helpful to consistently
reflect on your professional development. When completed you will upload your work to your blog and
add pictures to support the ideas written about.

Weekly Reflections:
Week 1: (Feb\24-28)

In the first week in the school I was observing the teacher during she teach and try to catch up with her
tack her schedule and tack the lesson outcome that she won’t me to teach. her classes was always
taught in traditional way, the teacher use the sudden release method in her lessons, she teach the
student the concept in the beginning of the period, then she ask them to solve the activity in the book. It
was fast because she tries to finish the outcomes with them so she can review for them before the
exam. I do teach full lesson for my MST. After I observe her in the first class I teach the same lesson to
the next class. I teach one full lesson with my plan in this week for my MST. I try to help the student to
understand the lesson and to support them during solving the activity so they fell confortable wail I am
there. I have very good classroom management from the beginning of my TP time. I have non-stable
schedule because I was transition between three teachers with three subjects, but I try hard to organize
myself to be professional student teacher.

Week 2: (Mar\3-7)

In the second week I start to be more engaged with the student they love me and I love them I try to
work in some of the student behaviour by talk to them discuss the problem with them and try to solve
it. I get observed by my MCT the second time, this time was little bet harder from the first one because I
take so long in the modelling part and it affect the student focus and understanding. It was good week
and it went fast. I also try to be collaborative with the other subject so I help the English and science
teachers in the classes and to marking student work. I take my classes if they have free period to review
for them or chat with them. I try hard to be closes with the student but series in the same time so they
don’t get used to see me friendly. They respect me and they listen to me because they love my teaching
way and they love that I try hard to let all of them understand.

Week 3: (Mar\10-14)

This week was full of energy the student was so hyper also me. There was a lot of event and activity in
the school. They start Shamma read this week which it is competition between the classes for the
student to see the student reading ability. The judges were the administrator of the school and the head
of the English facility. I do the last lesson for the MCT in the school and it was very good and I was very
happy, so I decide to give gift and treat them because of their good behaviour and their collaborative
with me I all of my lesson. I talk with my MST and I ask her If I can take one period off for each class in
Sunday to treat them and she agree after she found the same collaboration from the student in her
observation from the school administration. Also she observes me on the same day with my MCT. She
like the lesson and she ask me to teach it for the next class also.

Week 4: (Mar\17-21)

On the fourth week, we start our week with huge gift from me to my student and it was a free period
that they set and watch movie. I bring popcorn and juice for them they enjoy this gift and they come
and say thank you for the gift and they tell me that they enjoy it so match. The make lesson to my MST
and I went very fluent and I was relaxed when I was teaching this lesson. It was more creative and hands
on activities. The teacher like the lesson as well as the student. It was fast week with a lot of events and
activity. The other teachers were testing the student in the other subjects and they are so busy catch up
with the time. My teacher test the student same week but she make it as a full exam and in two period
so they finish it in two day so she can correct it.

Week5: (Mar\24-28)

Last week was so sad and almost from Tuesday the student stop come to school. I was doing my last two
observations to my MST. These two observations were extremely deferent because I use new strategy
for my activity. So first of all I use the rotation strategy in these two lessons. In the first lesson I create
five canters and the student have to rotate in the class to solve all of the activities or the questions. All
the five canters were different and it achieves one of the lesson gals. The second lesson I make only
three activities to be more related to each other and aim to the same goal. The last three day was all
about finish my tasks and gets done with my teacher work and I help the other teachers and
administrations in the other grades exams.
