1.0 PURPOSE
Illustrate the method and sequence of work involved in HDPE works.

4.0 DEFINITIONS
HDPE – High Dense Poly Ethylene
5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisor – Responsible for the scope of works, quality control and co-ordination of
the S/c Engineer; Reporting directly to the MWI Engineer.
Engineer – Responsible for the execution of the works as performed by the Sub-
contractor, Surveyor, and Supervisor; Reporting directly to the construction Manager.
6.0 PROCEDURE
Material to be inspected prior to start the job
Ensure the compaction test shall be done before laying of HDPE sheet
1000 microns of HDPE sheet shall be laid properly
Proper care shall be taken during laying of sheet to avoid any damage
Minimum 75mm lap length required to joint HDPE sheet
Joint shall be done by hot air gun
After heating, HDPE sheet shall be thoroughly inspected
If any damages occurred it shall be repaired immediately
SAFETY PRECAUTION:
Health and safety is a fundamental requirement which includes following for the HDPE
works
General:
Ensure work permit are in place prior to work.
Instruct personnel on the Work Permit requirements that have been detailed for the activity
prior to commencing work.
Use of tested and colour coded tools to be handled by authorized persons only.
Use of personal protective equipment i.e. safety shoes, helmets, gloves, eye protection and
dust mask, ear plugs any other safety accessories as required during the task.
Work areas and access ways are to be free from debris, materials and all tripping hazards.
Maintain daily housekeeping.
All equipment must meet the safety standards described in the EHS Plan.
All necessary safety interlocks shall be in place.
Inspect the PPEs, vehicles and hand tools prior to start the work.
Ensure full time supervision at work site.
Control measures:
Use PPE - safety shoes, helmets, gloves, eye protection and dust mask.
Traffic management plan, segregation of vehicle and pedestrian access.
Dust suppression with water sprinklers and use of dust mask.
Task related trainings as identified in Risk assessment report.
Tool box talks.
6.1 Remarks
All Materials/equipment need to be inspected prior to use.
