CLEANING OF ‘CLEANING TOOLS’

Following color code is to be followed for brushes, tools, and their attachments
being used in the dry clean areas.

Cleaning of brushes and tools

 Collect all the tools and transfer to wet cleaning area.

 Discard brushes, which are damaged beyond repairs.
 Remove hard residues accumulated on the handles,
Using a hard brush or scrapper.

 Soak tools in a Teepol solution for 5 min. (0.5% Teepol soln.)

 Brush handles and other parts thoroughly to remove adhering solids.
 Rinse thoroughly in running water to remove traces of Teepol.
 Dip the tools in the 1000-ppm chlorine solution for 5 min minutes.
 Dry the tools
 Cover the hand brush handles with poly liner strip to avoid residue build up
on the handles.
Frequency of Cleaning

 All the tools being used in the plant should be cleaned once /week.

 Avoid mixing with unclean tools or placing them on wet surface

WASHING OF CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY

 Collect the dirty CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY for washing & transfer them to the
washing area.
 Remove all adhering materials.
 Spray water clean the CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY.
 Again rewash the CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY with 0.5 % Caustic solution.
 Use proper PPE’S during washing with caustic solution (hand gloves, gum
boot, goggles etc).
 Rinse the CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY with water for three times to remove all
caustic traces.
 Keep washed CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY on pallets downwards to drain the
water.
 Allow the CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY to dry under sun light for 30 minutes.
 Checks the CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY for any caustic traces or any water
droplets. If caustic traces present again rinse with water if water droplets
are presents then clean with clean duster.
 A label is affixed, having details like name of dry substances, date of
cleaning and clause ‘I AM CLEAN’.
 Now the CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY are ready for use. Then transfer to the
line for use.
Frequency of Cleaning

 All the CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY being used in the plant should be cleaned

once /15 days.

 Avoid mixing with unclean CRATES/BUCKET/TRAY or placing them on wet

surface
