Study: Bronx Oncology Living Daily Healthy Living Project: A Diabetes Prevention Initiative
 Developed and pilot tested an 8-week exercise program for cancer survivors to reduce their risk
of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
 Created 12-week didactic curriculum tailored for underserved populations at high risk for Type
II diabetes to increase the long-term physical activity adherence.
 Assisted in the research and writing of CDC and NIH grants to gain funding for exercise
intervention and outcome measurements.

 Recruited, screened and received consent to include sufficient participation while maintaining
pre-determined participant guidelines
 Administered DEXA scans, hydrodensitometry, and bioelectrical impedance to determine
accurate body composition of adults, older adults and pre-diabetic Latino adolescents.
 Accurately input data into spreadsheets (Excel & SPSS) to facilitate ease of analysis and
quality control.
