OLIVE
&THE
DREADFUL
PLOGRE
A timid turtle named Olive, with the most beautiful olive complexion decides
to throw himself the biggest birthday bash in the seven seas. He proudly
proclaims that the vast menu will include jellyfish, a much devoured
delicacy. The only hitch is that in the darkest of seas roams a creature that
looks much like a jellyfish, this creature is called a Plogre - a Plastic Ogre.
Made up of plastic bags, straws and waste. Will the Plogres catch up with
Olive & his friends, or will Olive finally find his courage and beat the Plogers
forever?!

MEET OUR
TEAM
SARAH SAIFI - EXECUTIVE
PRODUCER - CEO
Sarah Saifi has over 9 years of experience in theatre. She has acted,
directed and produced theatre, film and episodic. She holds a
degree in Practical Filmmaking from Metfilm School London and
currently works as a Producer at Digital Invasion by Stimulus
Productions.

RABBIYA SHAKIL - DIRECTOR

Rabbiya Shakil is the driving force behind this production. With over
ten years of experience in the Theatre world, she has Acted & Directed
for stage. Rabbiya is also certified by Oxford and has taught preschool
children, while also teaching dramatics to middle schoolers. She has
directed various children's theatre in Islamabad, and has worked
actively as an Acting Coach. She is also mother to two adorable
children, and spends her free time introducing them to the world of
drama.

MAHA HASSAN - PLAYWRIGHT

Maha Hasan is an environmental engineer by
qualification, an actor by passion and a writer by interest.
Her love for playwrighting stems from her fascination
with the social awareness that entertainment can create.
She plans to curb the severe issue of plastic pollution -
one play at a time!

SAJEEL MEER - PRODUCER

Sajeel Meer has over ten years of experience in the theatre Industry.
His entire adult life has been a love letter to theatre. Having worked
as an Executive Producer, Producer, Director, Set Designer and
Actor, he truly embodies the true beauty of Theatre in Pakistan.
Having handled production for: Ponay 14 August, Come Again, Half
Plate, Sawa 14 August, Siachin, Bananistan, Anwar Maqsud Ka
Dharna. He has also acted in various T.V plays, and has produced a
wide range of digital content.

goread.pk
goread.pk is a non-profit organisation, registered as a Section 42
company. It is a socially conscious, nationwide movement of registered
volunteers (go-readers) who spend one hour a week of their time to
read culturally and developmentally appropriate stories to children in
underprivileged classrooms and communities across Pakistan.
The organisation also commits to sharing news worthy and enriching
reading resources with go-readers, thus contributing to a
knowledgeable, better informed society.
goread.pk is a scalable model that aims to serve children across Pakistan.
Stories for read-aloud sessions are shared with registered go-readers via a
mobile app. In order to encourage independent reading, children will be
provided with a link that allows them to download the stories that they have
listened to during read-aloud sessions.

to align ourselves with accomplished children's

within Karachi.

Our tickets will be sold for Rs. 750/head. All

ticket sales will go directly to Goread.pk
