Material Analytical Exposition

A. Definition of Analytical Exposition

Analytical Exposition is one form of argumentation text.

English experts define the analytical exposition text as
follows: "Analytical exposition is a text that elaborates
on the writer" idea about the phenomenon surrounding
". If translated in Indonesian, which is meant by
analytical exposition text is a text or writing that
describes the author's opinion about the phenomena
that are happening around us.

B. Purpose of Analytical Exposition

The communicative purpose of analytical exposition is

to convince the reader that the topic presented is an
important topic to be discussed or received attention by
giving arguments or opinions that support the main idea
or topic.

C. Generic Structure Analytical Exposition

Thesis
In the Thesis section, the author introduces the main
topic or idea to be discussed. The thesis is always in the
first paragraph in Analytical Exposition Text.Argument

In this section the author presents arguments or

opinions that support the main idea of the author,
usually in an Analytical Exposition Text there are more
than two arguments. The more arguments that are
displayed the more trust the reader that the topic
discussed by the author is a very important topic or
requires attention. Reiteration

This section is the closing part of an Analytical

Exposition Text which is always located at the end of
the paragraph. Reiteration contains the rewriting or re-
placement of the main ideas contained in the first
paragraph. Reiteration is also commonly called a
conclusion or conclusion and sometimes contains
recommendations.

D. Characteristics of Text Analytical Exposition Editor

Using simple present tense. Use relational process.

Usually using conjunctions that can cause causal
relationships. Like: because, if conditional sentence.
Use internal conjunction. Use casual conjunction.

E. Example of Analytical Exposition and Explanation

Gold
Investment
1. Gold has become a precious metal to mankind since it was the dawn of
civilization. The nature of gold is soft and malleable which people can make
and easily change to any forms, even it is done just by a simple technology.
The beautiful golden and shiny color does not easily fade out. The form of
gold can be as jewelry, bar, or coin. Now days gold coin, such as gold IRA,
becomes an advantageous investment.
2. Gold is safe and profitable for investment. In uncertain situations, many
people are turning to gold because gold has a more stable value and
regarded as currency without limitation assets. It is secure and can be
cashed out at any time we need. The Gold values tend to be stable; take a
look an IRA gold discussion. It is zero inflation effect. It is very rare that the
gold prices fell. Even every year, the gold price tends to increase.
3. Investments in the form of coins, it is famous as gold coin, is more
profitable if it is compared with the investment gold in the form of jewelry.
Gold Coin, for example gold 401k which some people call 401k gold, is very
good when used as an alternative investment, whether it is for the medium-
term investment and long-term investment. Besides that gold coins need
less cost in production and manufacturing sot it is more lucrative than
investing gold in the form of jewelry.
4. Moreover, some people do not just think gold as an investment, but also
as collections. Because the character is a collection so the uniqueness and
rareness are the point. There might be coins that cost up to more than a
million because of the history variables, ownership, and perhaps an
important event when the coin is launched.
5. From the reason above, if we decide to make an investment, it could be
useful to consider investing gold coin or think about gold IRA transfer. It is
really recommended.

Xplanation

The First Paraghraf is a Thesis, where the author introduces the topic he wants
to discuss, which is about how valuable and valuable gold is. An image of gold
that can be formed into anything as desired because of the soft ingredients.
But at the end of the first paragraph, the author has brought the reader to the
main topic, namely investment in gold. In the second paragraph is the
argument. His name is also analytical, of course the aim is to analyze the topic
with two or more arguments from the author. In this paragraph, the author's
first argument is that investing in gold is very safe and profitable (save and
profitable).
The second gold argument is stable because it is used as an international
currency and is not affected by inflation. The third and fourth paragraphs are
still talking about the author's arguments such as investing gold in coins is more
profitable than finished jewelery. back to the main idea in the first paragraph,
namely that investing in gold is more profitable and ends with the
recommendation of the author.

The government should Provide rehabilitation Program for Drug Users

Drug users are actually ill people who need help. Rehabilitation is one of the
main things they should get. Instead of punishing drug users in prisons, the
government should provide rehabilitation for them.

11. The following text is for questions 1 to 4.

12. Antibiotic is a drug produced by certain microbes. Antibiotics destroy other

microbes that damage human tissues. They are used to treat a wide variety of
diseases, including gonorrhea, tonsillitis, and tuberculosis.

Antibiotics are sometimes called “Wonder drugs” because they can cure
diseases such as meningitis, pneumonia, and scarlet fever. But, when the
antibiotics are overused or misused, these drugs make a person sensitive
being attacked by a superbug.

Antibiotics do not always distinguish between harmless and dangerous

microbes. If a drug destroys too many harmless microorganism, the
pathogenic ones (the dangerous microbes) will have a greater chance to
multiply. This situation often leads to the development of a new infection called
suprainfection.

Extensive use of some antibiotics may damage organs and tissues. For
example, streptomycin, which is used to treat tuberculosis, has caused kidney
damage and deafness.

Resistance to antibiotics may be ecquired by pathogenic microbes. The

resistant microbes transfer genetic material to non-resistant microbes and
cause them to become resistant. During antibiotic treatment, non-resistant
microbes are destroyed, but resistant types survive and multiply.
To avoid the side effect of antibiotics, you’d better not urge your doctor to
prescribe antibiotics. Keep in mind that antibiotics are only useful for bacterial
infections and have no effect on viruses, so they cannot be used for chicken
pox, measles, and other viral diseases.

25.
The number of high-rise apartment buildings continues to mushroom not only
in the center of the city but also in suburban areas. This shows that many
Indonesian enjoy living in apartments. This is true for a number of reasons.

In the first place, people prefer to live in an apartment because it is located

Learning English

Learning English through music and songs can be very enjoyable. You can mix pleasure with
learning when you listen to a song and exploit the song as a means to your English
progress. Some underlying reason can be drawn to support the idea why we use songs in
language learning.
Firstly, “the song stuck in my head” Phenomenon (the echoing in our minds of the last song
we heard after leaving a restaurant, shopping malls, etc) can be both enjoyable and
sometimes unnerving. This phenomenon also seems to reinforce the idea that songs work
on our short-and-long term memory.

Secondly, songs in general also use simple conversational language, with a lot of repetition,
which is just what many learners look for sample text. The fact that they are effective makes
them many times more motivating than other text. Although usually simple, some songs can
be quite complex syntactically, lexically and poetically, and can be analyzed in the same way
as any other literary sample.

Furthermore, song can be appropriated by listener for their own purpose. Most pop songs
and probably many other types don’t have precise people, place or time reference.

In addition, songs are relaxing. They provide variety and fun, and encourage harmony within
oneself and within one group. Little wonder they are important tools in sustaining culture,
religion, patriotism and yeas, even revolution.

Last but not least, there are many learning activities we can do with songs such as studying
grammar, practicing selective listening comprehension, translating songs, learning
vocabulary, spelling and culture.

From the elaboration above, it can be concluded that learning through music and songs,
learning English can be enjoyable and fun.
