Assignment Title: Mid Unit Assesment Q3 Macbeth Downfall Essay

Student Writing Goal: I would like to receive nothing less than an 85 on my essays and other writing assignment. I
hope to meet and exceed the rubric expectation.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment was to discuss the downfall of Macbeth. I had to state who was
responsible for his downfall whether it was himself, his wife, or the witches. I had to be able to justify my
stance, which was that Lady Macbeth, his wife, was responsible for his downfall. This paper’s purpose was to
be able to provide articulate evidence to prove our point, because it was a topic that has many different
answers. The paper is only deemed good if it is convincing.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I performed extremely well in relations to the expectations of the writing rubric. I received a score that I was
genuinely satisfied with. I followed the prompt to its fullest extent and wrote an A worthy paper. Based on
the rubric, I did well. I was able to meet most, if not all the requirements. There were minor mistakes
throughout the paper.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I believe I did well on many aspects of this writing piece. I think I did exceptionally well on providing
evidence. I provided good evidence that complimented my paper, and further proved my point that Lady
Macbeth was responsible for Macbeth’s downfall. By the end of the paper, there was no denying that she was
a major contributor to the turmoil of her husband.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I did pretty well, so I chose not to heavily revise my essay. I did have to add a little bit more summarization
to my introduction, because it was a little vague. Other than that, I though the paper was pretty good. I made
sure that the paper was proofread by me and many others, so that o would not have to worry much about
revising my paper.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
Something that I would like to do better on my next writing assignment as I said before is summarizing
better. I feel that I am vague sometimes. I have to keep in mind that when I write a summary, I have to write
it as if the reader has no idea what the play/story is about. Other than that, I believe I am a stong writer in
every other aspect.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I achieved my previously stated goal to a great degree of success. I received exactly an 85 as I hoped for. I
am a little disappointed, though, because I know that I could’ve done better. Overall, I am satisfied with what
I got. I have so far met my goal with every paper I have written this year, and I am extremely proud off all my
pieces of writing.
