 In this era of globalization, the development of science and technology is very rapid and
offers a great deal of ease of ease of operation. the presence of this technology is intended for
men!apai for better results with efficient efekti'itas.One of the technological advances in adults is
the development of computers !fig .Pre computerization has provided new insights and
paradigms in the process of decision making and information dissemination. the average that
presents the real world can be concluded and processed in such a way that it can be presented in
a form that is simpler and as needed.

SIG is a computer-based system that is designed to collect managing to manipulate and

display spatial information: space; in the form of information that has a geometric relationship in
the sense that the information can be measured calculated and presented in the standard
calculated reference field coordinate system with data in the form of digital data consisting of
position data: dataspasal; and semantic data: attribute data;

SIG can present real word: real world; above the monitior!computers as sheets of maps
can present the real world on paper.But GIS has more strength and flexibility than sheets on
paper. GIS can determine the appropriate location for the development of the location of
residential settlements that have several requirements that must be met. enable GIS !ara
explicitly enter datadan collect geographic data: spatial and attribute; integrating dataography
checking updating geographic data storing and retrieving geographic data presenting or
displaying geographic data.

APPLICATION OF GIS IN THE FIELD OF TOURISM

What is generated from a tourism mapping is a location map in the form of a map called a
Tourism Destination Map that will show images of the locations and conditions of tourism
objects that are mapped. Tourism is a journey from one place to another, carried out by
individuals and groups as an effort to find balance or harmony (Yoeti, 2008)

GIS in tourism is very helpful for today's people to make it easier to see the destinations of
tourism areas that will be visited or being visited

Broadly speaking, GIS is a computer program that is very useful in the field of tourism in terms
of graphically presenting information. GIS can present data clearly and completely. Along with
the development of geographic data processing technology, in GIS it is possible to combine
various databases and information collected through maps, satellite imagery and field
surveys. By using information technology that has developed rapidly, some of the spatial data
and information needed in the field of tourism that can be built in an information system based
on geographical coordinates better known as the Geographic Information System (GIS) is better
because it is helped by processing features and data presentation that are owned by a good GIS
application
