5 Year Plan
In 5 years I see myself being somewhere in law enforcement. After graduation I plan on

attending the Merced JC. I want to go there for two years and transfer to Fresno State University

and finish my major in criminology. I have been wanting to be in law enforcement since a young

age. In just 4 years I will be eligible to become a police officer. I will graduate college at the age

of 21. The legal age requirement to join the police academy is 21. So my 5 year plan is to

become a police officer in Los angeles within the next year of graduating college. while i'm

attending Merced JC I plan on supporting myself by working in my brothers verizon store in

atwater. I also plan on living at home with my parents. After completing the two years at the JC I

will request to transfer to Fresno State University. Once I transfer from Merced to Fresno I plan

on getting an apartment. I want to try and get an apartment close to the University so I won't

have to do a lot of driving in a city i'm unfamiliar with will also request to move get moved

locations so I am still able to work locally and I won't be forced to commute nearly an hour every

day and go to college. After graduating Fresno State and completing my major in Criminology, I

am going to move to Los angeles with my brother sonny,until I get the job and save enough to

get my own spot. Once i'm settled with my brother in Los Angeles I will apply for the police

academy, once completing the police academy I will apply to become a police officer. While my

time in college I plan on going thru several law enforcement programs that will advance me and

put me ahead of the competition when applying for the academy. My end goal with being in law

enforcement is joining the Los Angeles SWAT team. The LAPD has the biggest SWAT

division. Before joining the LAPD SWAT team I will have to earn my spot on the team, I will

have to first be invited to join, Secondly in order to be eligible I will have to obtain 8 years of

active duty under my belt. Third i will have to go through a number of test and score high on

them if I wanna ensure I get the one up on competition. Becoming a police officer is a very tough

job and there are a lot of internal battles that you go through on a daily base. The battles that

police officers face everyday is seeing unusual things that make you uncomfortable or on edge as

well as seeing people in really bad conditions, the difficult part about it is you being unable to

bring any of that home. I feel that those internal battles I may face won't get the best of me

because I have a strong mind and understanding what the job really comes with will make me

prepared for the worst.
