Rupee hits record low at 146.25 in open market

ISLAMABAD (Agencies):
Prime  Minister  Imran  Khan
has ordered concerned authori-
ties to take action against for-
eign exchange companies sell-
ing US dollar at higher rates.
The  decision  was  taken
at  a  meeting  pertaining  to
foreign currency rates in the
country, the  sources said.
The  meeting,  presided  over
by PM Khan, also had a del-
egation of  E-Commerce As-
sociation of Pakist an
(ECAP)  in  presence.
They said  the  forum  de-
cided that companies deviating
from set currency rates would
not be given any concession.
The meeting also pondered
over action against individu-
als not declaring their hold-
ings  under the  recent Asset
D eclarat ion Scheme,  the
sources informed further.

Wednesday  said  that  serving
the needy and destitute was the
collective  responsibility  of  all

that  dollar’s purchasing  price
was Rs143.50 and selling price
Rs144; Saudi Riyal was being
purchased at Rs38.20 and sold
at Rs38.35.
The  US  dollar bounced
back  to  Rs144  after  reaching
an  all-time  high  of  Rs146.25
during the day in the open mar-
ket  on Wednesday.
The  increase  in dollar’s
price came after Pakistan’s $6
billion bailout agreement with
International  Monetary  Fund
(IMF) on Sunday.
Meanwhile  the US  dollar
bounced back  to  Rs144  after
reaching  an  all-time  high  of
Rs146.25 during the day in the
open market on Wednesday.

mittee  (ECC)  of  the  Cabinet

Bureaucracy of Balochistan

Recently, the NAB’s activities and
performance as publicized on me-
dia was showing that they had
improved the performance of Bu-
reaucracy in Baluchistan, corrup-
tion in Government office would
have ended, officers would have
started coming to office in time,
they would have started meeting
with ordinary people, listening to
their complaints, releasing orders
for redressal of their grievances,
and would be taking action for their
problems. But recently, a letter is-
sued from the prime minister

ting in Baluchistan Bureaucracy.
Now people of Baluchistan, who cry
for their rights and show their de-
pravedness on the instigation of
India, would have come to know
that their enemies are not the out-
sider, but the sons of land and their
own relatives and their dear ones
are depriving them of their rights.
Question arises on the perfor-
mance and role of NAB as well.
Because the prime minister office
has shown desperateness over the
performance of bureaucracy of
Baluchistan for not timely re-
sponding to and redressal of pub-
lic complaints.
Prime Minister Office has ex-
pressed disappointment ov er
Baluchistan’s bureaucracy for not
promptly redressing people’s com-
plaints. In a letter written to Chief
Secretary of Baluchistan, it was
said that government officers and
other officials are committing neg-
ligence in resolution of complaints
received on Pakistan Citizen Por-
tal established by the Prime Min-
ister. It said Baluchistan is lagging
behind all provinces in resolution
of complaints. Prime Minister
Monitoring Cell has been estab-
lished to monitor redressal of com-
plaints received on PCP, where per-
formance of all provinces is being
evaluated. It said Prime Minister
is apprised about redressal of com-
plaints on PCP. The letter said that
Baluchistan Gov ernment re-
dressed only 800 out of 4791com-
plaints, which is just a 17 percent.
It said performance of 41 out of 53
portals forwarded to government
departments in Baluchistan re-
mained zero. The letter maintained
that proper guidance has also been
provided to provincial officers, but
even then their performance ap-
peared unsatisfactory. It said reso-
lution of people’s problems and fa-
cilitating masses are the mission
of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The
Prime Minister office directed the
provincial chief secretary to take
action against government officials,
who are not paying heed to resolve
people’s issues.
In view of the worsening situa-
tion of peace and prosperity in the
province and increasing the frus-
tration in the youth, we request the
provincial bureaucracy that for
god’s sake keep the interests of the
Nation and state while doing any
assignment. You are being disre-
pute and maligned just because of
some of the corrupt elements in
your rows. Do not take others ills
on your credit. Do not hesitate or
fear to report the corruption of dis-
honest officer found in your ranks
to the relevant institutions, espe-
cially NAB. Otherwise, the history
will mention you as the corrupt of-
ficer along with the corrupt people.
