Unit: Nutrition Sub-Topic: Nutritional Principles
Equipment/Resources: Multimedia, laptop, whiteboard and markers, pictures of foods, a
template of a simple diet plan.
Previous Knowledge/Experience: Students know that a heathy lifestyle should include a proper
diet. They are familiar with the concept of nutrition and the role it plays in their everyday life.
Concept Statement: Nutritional principles helps us to lead healthy lives when followed these
principles include; a balanced diet, moderation and variety in our eating choices. With the
increasing occurrence of lifestyle diseases which are directly related to eating habits, it would be
prudent for students to be informed about the nutritional principles so that their dietary choices
will be healthier.
Objectives: at the end of the lesson students will be able to:
