Se utilizan las conchas de caracol de Africano (Achatina fulica) como materia prima para la

preparación de carbón activado es ampliamente usado por su área superficial y la

porosidad[1], esta especie se a convertido una problema para la agricultura en especial
especial en la producción de citricos y caco[2][3]

Una nueva alternativa es usarlo como un buen absorbente de bajo costo para la eliminación
de metales pesados en centros mineros [5]
