Scientific investigation

Scientific research is an orderly and systematic process of research in which a set of methods

and criteria is carefully applied, a study is carried out, an analysis is made around a topic, with

the objective of knowing, expanding or developing the knowledge that is available. this

investigation.

The fundamental objective of scientific research is to find solutions to specific problems:

explain phenomena, develop theories, expand knowledge, establish principles, reformulate

approaches, check results, etc. To do this, the research uses scientific methodology, which is a

very important tool to start, in a structured and systematic way, to analyze and investigate the

problem posed.

As seen in the chapter 1 of Research Methodology from author C.R.Kothari, The research has a deep

meaning, it exist for the purpose to search for knowledge, it’s considered scientific, systematic, a

voyage of discovery, an academic activity. As such, it main objectives focus to gain familiarity with a

phenomenon, portray the characteristics in a individual or groups, determine the frequency about the

association of one thing to another, and test hypothesis insides variables. The research methodology,

as a wide study to reach the knowledge, is structured by many types, each pair which has a counterpart

of it, listed like this:

 Descriptive vs Analytical
 Applied vs Fundamental
 Quantitative vs Qualitative
 Conceptual vs Empirical
 Some other kinds

Along with the importance of each type of research, are research approaches, which help us to get a
better understanding about we are looking for in the research. About the significance of research,
how there are roles it accomplishes in the society, how the research inculcates
scientific and inductive thinking and it promotes the development of logical habits of thinking
and organization. How the Research has its special significance in solving various operational and
planning problems of business and industry. How the Research is equally important for social
scientists in studying social relationships and in seeking answers to various social problems. Besides,
Research methods differs from Methodology about the way researchers use methods or techniques
in performing research operations, while Methodology is a way to systematically solve the research
problem. Another topic to look is how Experimentation is done to test hypotheses and to discover
new relationships, about the Importance of Knowing How Research is Done through study of
research methodology who gives the student the necessary training in gathering material and
arranging or card-indexing them, participation in the field work when required, and also training in
techniques for the collection of data appropriate to particular problems, the Research Process which
is a set of steps we have to follow in order to carry out research and the desired results. Following
the research process, a criterion of good research is seen only if it is: systematic, logical, empirical
and replicable.
In the last part of the chapter, the author mentions about problems encountered by researchers in
India, where they are facing several problems, for example:
 The lack of scientific training
 Insufficient interaction
 Lack of confidence
 Overlapping
 The lack of a code of conduct
 The difficulty of getting assistance
 Library management and functioning is not satisfactory, and are not able to get copies of
oldand new Acts/Rules, reports and other government publications in time
 difficulty of timely availability of published data

Conclusions

As a result of the unit we wer able to reinforce the knowledge of the scientific research, it began

by defining the scientific research to later base the research methodology. To facilitate learning

we use the book RESEARCH METODOLOGY SECOND EDITION. This book lets us know,

MEANING OF RESEARCH, OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH, MOTIVATION IN

RESEARCH and TYPES OF RESEARCH. Finally, we reinforce knowledge through book

readings recommended by our methodology subject teacher and also web pages.
