Dear Mr. Pettygrove, 

My name is Aubreanne Aponte, I am from Merced, California. I will be studying 

psychology and hoping to become a social worker for Merced County. I have 
been looking into a position her for quite some time. The thing that brought 
me to Merced County was that fact that this is my home, it is where I was born 
and raised so it felt only right for me to give back to the people of my town as 
much as I can. I think I am a good fit for this job because Merced County is my 
home, I know everyone and everyone knows me. I got a lot out of Merced in 
the 18 years I lived here. I am very dedicated and hard working when it comes 
to tasks and getting things done. Not only will I be dedicated to my work, I will 
be dedicated to the families I help.  

I will be studying psychology at Arizona State to receive my Bachelors of 

Science. I don’t really have experience with this kind of job except with things 
like mentoring students and volunteering with children. I did, however, have a 
job her in town called Bella Luna. I was hired as a hostess and I worked myself 
up to becoming a busser. Hostessing had to deal with more communicating 
with customers and planning ahead. Bussing is very high paced and your 
constantly doing something. Hostessing allowed me to work on my people 
and talking skills so I think this has allowed me to learn how to talk and 
approach different types of people.
