1 Sensor Mounting Angle

EN Sensor MUST be positioned
horizontal to vertically downwards
and MUST be perpendicular to the
target surface. Sensor MUST not
be positioned above horizontal
e.g. in upward direction.

2 Sensor position to target area

EN Always position the sensor to view
the centre of the target area.

EN Sensor must NEVER be targeted

viewing the bolted connection.
3 Target Area
EN Target area MUST be MATT BLACK
(Flat Black) by painting with a
high temperature stove paint. The
painted area should be square
e.g. deep as the busbar is wide.
NEVER rectangular or circular.

4 Cable Sensor Installation

EN The grey ambient sensor MUST
NOT be in contact with the cable
being measured and ensure it
is in the local ambient air.
• LV (up to 1000v AC) – mounting
distance MUST be 50 to 75mm
(2” to 3”) from the lower
end of the connecting lug
• MV (up to 13.8kV) – mounting
distance MUST be 150mm
(6”) from the lower end
of the connecting lug
NOTE: all local and country specific
standards for clearance should be
adhered to for mounting the sensors.
