Everyone is different, right down to the very wiring of the brain. Just
like everyone learns in different ways, everyone expresses
themselves in different ways. Performing arts gives students who
may not be as “school-smart” as other kids, a chance to use their
creative thinking and produce something incredible and worthwhile.
These kids need an outlet that they might not otherwise get in
schools. We need artists as much as we need other careers
because a world without art is not a place worth living. Students
should be allowed to express their creativity and feel accomplished
about excelling at something substantial.

collaboration and teamwork, ability to solve problems, sense of
responsibility, high level of thinking, strong character, civic mindedness,

Participating in performing arts sets students so much farther ahead of
their classmates. In a world that is increasing in competitiveness,
having these skills will give students the edge they may need over
another person in a job setting in the future.

their bodies. Dance and other performing art forms teach discipline. These
classes also give students a chance to get away from being stuck at a desk all
day. It keeps them moving and engaged. Students tend to enjoy performing
arts classes more than their standard core classes because dance, or the like,
is something that they actually want to excel in. In this picture, you can tell that

just by observing their body posture. Students deserve to love what they are
learning and to be excited about it.
