1st Family Concern/Priority: Sarah would like to see the needs of her child met, but she is
concerned with the things she has read online and wants to know strategies that have worked

activity that helps to reduce the frequency of those tantrums, then they might be able to get
better help for him and reduce the intensity of them as well.

Current Resource/Information: The family has been using the internet for ideas and using past
activities that the older two girls enjoyed to do to help with trying to calm Kitchi down.

tools to also know what to do or how to find ways to help Kitchi channel his energy and
frustration through activities they discover through the program.

strengthen their bond and spend time in activities for a few hours each week, while the girls are

MATERIAL SUPPORT

Kitchi either as a distraction or a channel of energy. With his tantrums, having something
tangible he can use to calm down around him would be useful.

Current Resource/Information: Joseph and Sarah have heard that there are certain toys that
help children when they become overwhelmed with the environment.

Outcome: Kitchi will be able channel his energy into this toy. Having his senses focused on this
toy will help distract him from his environment and the things in his environment that may
bother him. When he is feeling overwhelmed by his environment he can use this toy as a
positive output of energy instead of having a tantrum.
Suggested Action: The Locklear family will purchase an inflatable rocking toy. When Kitchi
becomes overwhelmed with what is happening in his environment, he will be able to use the
toy to help him calm down.

can help with providing a better dietary plan for him, they believe it will also help with tantrums
and anger issues.
Current Resource/Information: Sarah knows that Kitchi is extremely sensitive to food textures,
and he is not eating many solid foods.

Outcome: Kitchi will begin to eat different types of foods to improve his dietary needs, and he
will begin to eat solid foods.
