Amoeba is an unicellular
Fresh Water Protozoan
It gathers its food with the help of
pseudopodia. Digestion takes
place inside the food vacuole
present in the cytoplasm.
Algae, Bacteria, and small
protozoa are its main food.
The process of digestion in
Amoeba is intracellular.
Amoeba encircle the food particle
using false foot or Pseudopodia
After that food vacuole formed
and combines with Lysosome.
 The food vacuole contains
enzymes that can digest
Carbohydrate, lipids and proteins.
Enzyme present in the lysosome
digest the food and then
Absorption and Assimilation
takes place.
The nutrients are absorbed into
the Cytoplasm Surrounding the
food vacuole.
After these process waste
materials are excreted out.
