JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Area Manager Sales

Location: Chennai
Reports to: Regional Manager Sales, South
Target: USD: 1.5 million (approx.)
Reportees: NA

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for frontline sales activities for the assigned territories of Tamilnadu &
Kerala.

Key Responsibilities

 Achieve assigned sales targets

 Negotiating price quoted and finalizing the deal in consultation with regional manager
 Converting enquiries into orders
 Meet sales productivity and win rate targets
 Keep up with market developments through formal / informal sources and keep superiors
posted
 Develop and nurture healthy customer relations
 Updating of sales activity and progress of potential deals as per defined systems
 Provide necessary technical information for customs clearance
 Provide support to Credit Collections team for recovery of payment, agency commission and
EMD
 Coach junior members of the team
 Work closely with marketing to improve funnel health and win rate

Qualifications and Experience

 Graduate in Biotechnology, Bio chemistry, Analytical chemistry or life sciences

 Post graduate in management from tier 1 business school
 At least 3 years of experience in in a B2B, commercial/Corporate sales for high value capital
products.
 Knowledge of Tendering is a mandatory requirement
 Exposure to sales of mass spectrometry or related instruments (GC, LCMS) is highly
desirable; experience in sales of high value capital equipment is essential
 Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation) and good command over the
English Language
 Proficiency in MS Office
 Experience and ability to build relationships, influence people; good negotiation and
interpersonal skills
 Demonstrated experience of being a team player
