CDB CLASS COMING TOGETHER…REMINISCING

Year 2020 is the High School Graduation Day. Seeing my CDB Kids in the
pedestal of success puts joys in my heart and sadness . Tears falling and mind
recalling when they were at their portal of being a teenager. Whew! I have aged
and still I love to teach. These kids were with me and now they will embark a
threshold of hope and will build dreams of their own. This was one of my gloomy
days but I have to let them go for them to discover what life has to offer.
GRADUATION CEREMONY ENDS. We parted ways with heavy hearts.

2040 is a progressive year! The Philippines ranked first in the recent

education forum held at Sky Hotel in Mactan Lapu- Lapu City. Attended by
prestigious professors and educators all over the globe with the prominent speaker
and well-loved personality, the Education expert and the academic adviser of
President of the Philippines, her excellency Cristina Andrea Quilog, with her very
hectic schedule, Professor Emeritus, Donna Marie Egos. Not to mention the
President’s campaign manager and it was a sure win for the President whenever
Professor Donna starts to advertise President Cristina’s infinite successful projects
which benefit the children and families who are deprived of education and decent
homes. Their friendship was one of a kind for they have hearts for the people. The
hotel’s owner was in the shock of his life. Four-time awardee for best hotel
manager and super financial skills is the accountant, Shynne Dave Dinoy, with
eyes wide opened welcoming the President and the Professor Emeritus in his abode
was the best of all the guests ever in 10 years of hotel management. With him is
also the multi-awarded interior decorator who made blitz all over Asia and Europe
for superior Filipino talent in indigenous materials production and design is his
wife for 10 years, Mrs. Locel Espartero Dinoy. They will never let go of each
others’ arms and swore to keep their love burning despite their individual
differences and work pressures. The four of them filled the room with laughters
and joys as they recall the CDB times. Entering the limelight is General Jose
Valenciano who was a war hero in Mindanao for stopping a terrorist group in a
hostage takeover in one of the prestigious schools managed by Professor Donna.
General Jose’s order was so precise: Never leave the President, die for the country
and keep the President safe all the time. Despite this motto General Jose’s ultimate
goal is to be close to the President and make her bullet free. Oh my God! April
15?! Is this date familiar to you President and General?

In a not so far area the staring looks of the wealthiest in Lapu-Lapu for bus
management with the highly technological ride of your life and good-hearted
couple, Mr. Kyle Tatoy and Mrs. Faye Nicole de Loyola Tatoy, came rushing to
the scene, wearing the biggest smile of all surpassing all the media men and
women in amazement greeted the group. The couple are always out of the country
for business tours and speakership of keeping the family intact despite the so many
worldly concerns. Kyle, though the playboy type in college due to his modeling
offers and the countless Mr. Pogi Awards remained humble and conservative in
winning Nicole’s heart for Kyle found her simple, intelligent and never gives in to
his intentions. Nicole was a campus figure too but never had eyes on Kyle for she
was determined to finish school than other things and this made him love her more.
For four years of courtship, Nicole finally gave in and made Kyle the happiest for
he was sure that Nicole was the best award God ever gave him. Just like Shynne
and Locel, family was the topmost priority. One by one the room became a
laughing den. President Cristina had forgotten the nation’s matters for she became
a CDB Kid once more just like the rest.

It was agreed! Horay! Horay! A bus yes a bus ride for the first time reunion
ever of the CDB Kids. With the expertise of the computer genius, Computer
Engineer Peter Nelvio Pahugot, who came from an international convention of
computer experts in Hawaii, locating the CDB kids was never impossible. Peter,
became so perfect in creating a microchip helping young adults to solve math
problems in a zip. This invention of his made a way for the Philippines to become
the best in Asia. Peter and Jose still are in contact for Jose’s national security
scheme was always upgraded by Peter’s ingenuity in the art of war and weaponry.
Speaking of weaponry, the master artist of the blades and metallurgy, Lord
Brandon Quinte and wife Antoneth Acedre Quinte, the women’s rights protector
and a successful anchorwoman of CNN never broke each others’ hearts and
continued to live life to the fullest with their three children currently enrolled in
Babag Science High under the tutelage of Mrs. Cheryl Baring Amores (CBA na!).
The couple became a public figure in Lapu-Lapu City with Brandon’s experiment
on turning metals to gold and gems which has been the envy of every magician in
the world. Toneth, on the other hand made a name of her own by defending
women who are victims of domestic violence and was always a speaker in any
government sponsored forum. Lord Brandon, Kyle, and Peter always are in
constant chats for latest inventions to help the Oponganon’s life to progress.

This perfect gesture has inspired the steadfast Nicole to help Peter trim down
the list of whereabouts of the CDB Kids for she knows exactly the hangouts of Dr.
Princess Khinn Toledo, the famous, smart and still mistaken as Victoria’s Model of
beauty and shape, the brain surgeon never missed Nicole and Toneth’s birthdays.
Although single for 10 years and has founded scholarships for those poor,
deserving and brainy students in the Lapu-Lapu City and Cebu in general made her
the Healing Doctor of Beauty and Heart. She is the easiest to locate for she never
left the Philippines and continually do researchers on vaccines which are available
for marginalized people. A true blood Filipina, doctors from all over the world
send her flowers and love notes but never had time for them since her life is for the
service to all. And guess what she said YES! to the bus ride.

Dr. Khinn phoned half the globe to catch Carol Mae Torreta and fiancé
Romiel Degollacion for a book signage tour. Carol, a very famous and well-versed
writer for 8 years has never been cancelled from the picture. With thousands of
books written in more than 5 languages, Carol became the interpreter in
international pageants and international meeting of leaders. The over a billion
copies of books sold by Carol told the readers that love can wait. The book centers
on Romiel, A UP Professor of Abstract Algebra and a good friend of Peter.
Romiel’s ever gentleman’s behavior has given Carol the optimum time to know
him more and believe in TRUE LOVE. Romiel is a one-woman-man which of
course is not evident in the men’s population of 2040. Romiel’s equation was
always absolute in meaning CAROL + ROMIEL = INFINITY. And this is
validated through the proof of love and sincerity that True Love Can Wait. The bus
is so timely for they are coming home soon to the Philippines.

Antoneth in no worry also picked up her cellphone and called the renowned
dance instructress, ballerina, pop jazz enthusiast, and hip-hop mistress, to take a
time off next week for the ride of her life. It was a big YES! Mae Lanny Costura,
owned the biggest and Guinness Book of Records smasher dance studio with
multiple dance moves invented by the figure shaper. Dr. Khinn frequents her club
and has been a constant diet manager for Lanny. The two were inseparable in
terms of dancing and making careers worthy while Toneth, Carol and Nicole are
busy with the love of their life.

Peter’s eye grew wide hearing Dr. Khinn is in town and maybe, maybe,
maybe find time just to ask her, “How she has been doing?”

The CDB Kids reunion hit a fever around the continent. With magazines,
flyers and TV coverage of Toneth has alarmed the group. Atty. John Labrador,
was poked! With his constant meetings with the congress and legal adviser of
President Tinay, I mean Cristina he has to join the trip. With bills passed in
Congress, Atty. John became the people’s voice. He founded a school for gifted
and talented students and has constantly persuaded the president to increase the
nation’s budget for education. A people’s choice Atty John is eyeing for Vice
Presidency next year.

Senator Atty. Jazarra Jamboy on the other hand together with the people’s
choice has been partners in and outside the congress. The best of friends in
congress and the worst enemies in the court room, Jazzy always puts a smile on
John. With 5 years of senatorship, Jazzy topped the board exam of lawyers and has
become the first Cebuana to make it through the rank and with of course John
came in second. If John is the people’s choice then Jazzy is the people’s life for
she always accounts treating children and elderly with tender loving care. John
will take a step a forward to make this friendship to the next level and surely Jazzy
will have a John’s heart ratified and put into investigation.

Hey! Hey! Hey! Let me add to this. The President’s voice illuminates the
crowd. All of these will never be told without the person who has given us the
chance to meet and be one. Where’s Ma’am Chebar? Silence fills the moment.
All were stunned seeing the Fashion Wardrobe Artist Eusib Vincent Pulvera
breaking the silence. With millions of wardrobe designs scattered all over the
thoughts of everyone they were sure that Eusib dresses the president. With his
Filipiniana coated designs, master artist Eusib has surpassed Ralph Lauren, Levis
Corporation and has monopolized Bench and Penshoppe Intercontinental. No
wonder the president was never an outcast in the convention of international
leaders.

Eusib’s Protégé, Raph Bradley Baguio, has earned his name in the fashion
business. With international modeling industries, exclusive supply of silk and
wool, Raph caught the eye of the First Filipina Model to pose in the moon, Joselle
Gaviola. The two had been the recipients of Galactic Fashion. They were so
famous that even Casanovas in the world cannot even get a time for signature.
Raph’s designs fit Joselle’s taste. Their smart brains collide. Fashion and science
were their forte. Joselle’s beauty can heartbreak a playboy and send men weeping
and dying to date her. Blame it all on her! Joselle’s beauty is a record breaking.
She can transform herself to a woman of varied persona. While Raph on the other
hand has became so rich that he’s planning to extend the walls of his business to
Europe and Australia and with Eusib’s partnership in spreading the Filipino
fashion with Science industry. The trip will be a trail of fashion for the three of
them.

Engineer Peter’s work was lifted then for the CDB virus reunion was quite a
talk of the town. Film Director Larra Francesca Lasam was a total makeover.
With Joselle’s help Larra acted and directed with her leading man Jib Andrei
Tampus and multi-awarded Filipino actor the film that bagged Oscars Awards.
Her being a director also uplifted the movie industry in the Philippines with its
documentaries which opens the world to the reality of living freely. Jib on the
other hand has been a woman’s favorite. With his gentleman’s looks and very
attractive nature remained loyal and genuine to her intentions of Larra ( up to now
Larra does not have a clue on Jib’s feelings for her). The two of them remained
civil and professional in the film industry. Oh that trip! Both of them said yes!

“The mass has been offered. Go in peace to serve and love the Lord.” The
Spiritual adviser of President Cristina is Bishop Marcpolo Pata. Entered the
convent right after the college graduation, Marc made his biggest decision of all.
Loving the flock of God and spreading the good news were his passion. His first
love is service and spreading the good news. An international speaker of religion
unity and call for peace, Bishop Marc will be surely be the next pope and the first
ever Filipino Pope. President Tinay, epz Cristina invited him to the reunion and
smiled and leaped for joy.

Right across the scorching heat of the African desert comes a missionary
nun sent by Bishop Marcpolo to evangelize the people. With Dr. Khinn’s free
medicines and Toneth’s satellite feed coverage Sister Julieanne Ezabelle Uy was
traced. An international icon of innocence and patience, Sister Julieanne’s story
was the first documentary episode of Larra and Jib. With her words of love Sister
Julieanne has inspired young women to enter sisterhood and serve God with
untiring hearts. For the first time in 10 years she will go home to the Philippines
and ride the bus of life.

Two business tycoons, Richavit Pasibog and partner Renz Angelo Amahan
had owned the biggest brewery and wine production in the whole of Cebu
Province. The super duo took the industry to the fullest with a Filipino trademark
offering jobs international (their customers were 80% foreigners) as well as local.
Both are married and loving their wives truly. Richavit and Renz frequent the
church especially if Bishop Marc is celebrating. The love of their life Lanny and
Toneth are settled and up to now they still thought of good memories with them.
With their kids in Science Classes of Babag, Richavit as the Mayor of Cordova
and Renz as the First councilor of Lapu-Lapu City made them super friends with
political dynasties. “No problem with the road permit” said Renz and we’re
coming to that trip. Peter was indeed in cloud nine.

Speaking of political regime, Mayor of Lapu-Lapu City Heart Angell

Satera, made LLC a paradise. With hotels mushrooming, schools upgrading, and
political arena owned by the Oponganons, Mayor Heart’s 10 year establishment of
LLC was never a failure. President Cristina’s support made the place booming
with tourists attractions. Heart’s schedule was never a blank space. The Speaker
of the House of the Mayor, Zeneath Mae Yongco, a Mass Communication student
of Ateneo de Manila and a real Oponganon graduated Magna Cum Laude (with
the Mayor’s scholarship) and these credentials paved the way for her to take a
stand in the City Hall. Her a.k.a. Meriam Defensor principles gave Mayor Heart
an armor to fight corruption and injustice in the political world. Both of them made
a reservation on the bus.

of the National Geographic phoned Alaysa Mangoranda, editor of Vogue
Magazine. Kyle, Nicole, Warner and Alaysa have been party friends for Warner
and Alaysa are the “click and shots” of Nicole and Kyle’s nuptial in the Sahara
Desert. That was the wedding of the year covered with stories of how true love
blossoms with two different individuals. Warner and Alaysa have travelled the
globe in different seasons and are so comfortable with each others’ pieces of
advice. Their next photo shoot will be Romiel and Carol’s dream wedding in
Olanggo Island with reception at Shynne and Locel’s hotel. Alaysa and Warner
promised to cover the bus’ ambiance.

With laden values and saintly attitude, the Dean of Several Schools in
Dubai, Joschel Angeli Castil embedded with Filipino values has made every
Filipino Overseas Workers Proud. With engineering skills, computer expertise and
a lawyer, Joschel stood firm that every Filipino is worth dying for. With music in
her pastime, she never forgets to hum songs of praise to the Lord. Angie as the
batch president and liaison officer has convinced the President (they are still the
best of friends) to call for the first reunion of the CDB Kids and reunite our being
the best CDB section in BNHS. It was Angie’s plan afterall.

Britney Aton, the biggest land proprietor in Cebu has been dreaming of the
bus ride. Owning the entire Barangay Kalawisan with her engineering skills and
accountancy procedures, Engr. Britney will launch the first Philippine National
Bank in Kalawisan with beach resorts and hotels in the area. Mayor Heart has also
supported Engr. Britney’s idea making Kalawisan as a highly urbanized barangay,
the first in the world. With political skills, Engr. Britney will run for Vice-
Mayorship under the banner of Mayor Satera.

Now comes the shining gems for all seasons, Queen and Heiress of Lapu-
Lapu City, Daiane Stephanie Hinoguin, a true descendant of Datu Lapu-Lapu has
come to Cebu with all her jewelries in auction. Fresh from her trips in US,
Spain, Mexico, Finland and Italy (just to buy jewelries), she was known as kind
hearted. With her partnership with Lord Brandon in metal transformation, Queen
Daiane is Bishop Marc’s refuge in times of financial distress. The support she
gave to the church is just minimal of the many blessings she has received out of a
very generous and giving heart. Guess what? She buys all the tickets for the bus
ride. We ride free. We eat free. We have hotel accommodations free after the bus
ride courtesy of the crowned jewels.

Nothing compares to Lyca Mae Pogoy, the mother, housewife and true
friend. With 5 kids, she made it a point to raise them well. Living a simple life
with her very loving husband, Lyca was a proud mother. She graduated Suma
Cum Laude at the University of San Carlos major in business management and has
dominated the Cosmetics products. Raph and Eusib crave for her products. All
their children graduated Valedictorian both in Grade School and High School in
Babag Science High. I consider her as the most successful in all the CDB kids for
she has maintained a superb family with values imbibed by her kids. For the first
time ever she will take a day off with her family and join the reunion.

Ma’am Chebar! R u there? “ Hello kids where’s your adviser?” Elaiza Faye
Pepito’s words out of the many days she has visited Ma’am Chebar since
graduation from high school. With her constant checking on Ma’am Chevz she
has become a big sister to the CDB Kids for 15 years. Never has she missed a
Christmas party with them and the only CDB Kid who has remembered Ma’am
Chebar’s birthday. Elaiza is an international balladeer. She sings for the kings and
queens. The opera was a just a piece of cake. She has also inherited her mother’s
business and today she holds the record of building the biggest aquarium in the
entire Mactan channel where millions of species of the marine life can be seen. She
has also transformed LLC as the “Deep Sea Diving Capital of the World”. Today
she is inviting Ma’am Chebar for the ride of a lifetime but came in short for
Ma’am Chevz is with Exel Bunaos and Nina Mae Bueno in Greece
commemorating Pythagoras’ 2000th birthday.

Exel Bunaos, a highly trained mathematics professor at the University of

Sto, Tomas with her mentor Nina Mae Bueno also a professor at the same
university, team up with a research on proving that the last five digits of Pi (𝜋) are
1,4,3,4,4. The dynamic partnership of Nina and Exel has made blitz in the
advancement of Mathematics and more often than not they are invited to
Mathematical Societies in the Philippines for a lecture. The MTAP community has
also voted for the two for chairmanship and vice-chair. President Cristina has also
received awards for the works of Exel and Nina. With fundings from local and
national government Nina and Exel will soon compete in Germany for proving that
there’s a secret love message in Pi. The three has made a trip to Greece to pay
tribute to Pythagoras.

Kyle at the other line called Exel for the invitation. They shouted YES!

Nickyle’s Liner (Nicole and Kyle’s names combined) was on schedule. For
every person who embarks is a story to tell. Ms. Cheryl Dungog Baring is the
same. In her early 60’s she is still a math fanatic. “Kids! Where’s Khinn? I quite
miss her in the attendance. Do we have a seat for her?

Khinn came the last of all the passengers. Peter’s driving the bus with his
newly invented Solar GPRS and never wear out cellphone has made me very proud
of him. “ Khinn, I’m afraid you have to take the front seat cause all seats are taken
except that one.”

Quietly, she sat in the front seat and looked at the driver with amazement. “
Khinn, hi! How are you?” Peter said in a sheepish voice.

“I’m fine. How about you? Ahhm I’m at my best now…they smiled and
talked really talked for the first time in 20 years.

The CDB Kids started cheering and reminiscing the days we went through
as a CDB Family. The bus is field with stories piled up in 20 years time.

First destination, Babag National High School particularly the CDB Room
where they will remember the times they are struggling with academic pressures
yet survived all of it and raised the flag of a true Science Class clan.

It was a perfect day with a perfect plan. All left with smiles and love and
their hearts.

Till we meet again kids! Soon…perhaps…and remember you will always be

a part of me.
