Goal and General purposes

This subject provides the students to understand overview of the background of


American multiculturalism. American multiculturalism explore the contacts of
Europeans with natives peoples all over the world. This course is to provide racism
and discrimination in American history. Part one provide an overview of racism in
American life and elsewhere, in order to establish an accurate perspective. Part two
dealing with American Indians, and discrimination against American immigrant
groups. American anti European nationalism has been a persistent undercurrent in
American thought, used to legitimize both domestic cultural nationalism and global
foreign policy. By constructing a distance from the Europeans “other” conservative
Americans have emphasized their own social identity and created on illusion of
unified citizenship.

Learning Objective :

At the end of course the students are able to access American Multiculturalism in
American history, to explore the European settle in America.
Pre-requisites

a. The students are required to attend the class actively at least 80% of the total
expected attendance.
b. The students are required to write and submit papers to be discussed before
final test exam.
c. The students are required to take mid-semester and semester test.
