In Hari Co., the vision is “for people to be healthy and happy in their everyday Commented [LDA1]: Simplify

lives.” This is to counter the very negative atmosphere that the urban life has

created for the citizens with so much academic and work responsibilities

pouring over. Next, Hari Co.’s mission is “to create connections with one

another through healthy eating.” The company wants our consumers to

connect with one another through healthy eating to promote our vision. As Commented [LDA2]: How will healthy eating make
people connect with one another?

people are social creature, people can connect with one another through similar

activities, thereby more people will also start eating healthy. The company

achieves this by heavily promoting in social media platforms and portraying

the importance of health and wellness.

B. Summary of the Business Plan

1. Owner and his Goals

The owners of the company are Adel John He, Alejandro Rafael

Constantino, Lance Cody Agustin and Gabriel Deaño. The goal of the

company is to sell 10,000 products within a school year in La Salle Green Commented [LDA3]: 1000 products in 1 school year is

Hills. They will have their product approved by the Food and Drug

Administration and will lower down the cost in making the product, yet

maintaining the quality. In the long run, the company would like to
expand and sell in other schools and to partner with other sporting goods

shops such as Toby’s, Chris Sports, Nutrition Depot and others.

a. The Product

De Lasa Energy Bar is an organic energy bar. The concept behind the

product is to provide the best amount of nutrients and energy for the

student athletes and student performers of La Salle Green Hills in the

most convenient size. The company figured out that their need of a

quick source energy as the athletes.

The product will consist of mainly local raw materials that are organic,

meaning that the product would not include any supplements or any

active ingredients. This implies that the product will be safer all

throughout, with not risk of chemical intoxication.

b. The Target Market and Reasons

De Lasa’s main target market will be the student athletes and the

student performers of La Salle Green Hills as most of them return home Commented [LDA4]: Why them?

tired and drained due to intense training, this might result in their

negligence of their school work. De Lasa is a quick and easy source of

energy for the students, not only after training but also before it.

However, it does not necessarily mean that it’s only limited to that

target group. It does not necessarily mean that only the student athletes
need energy as the regular students, too, have to comply with the

demanding responsibilities that the school provides.

C. Discussion of PESTEL

For the political factor, Hari Co. is currently situated in a political

situation where natural farming is not supported by the government in the

Philippines, thereby creating less local raw materials for the company.

This will increase the cost greatly as the dependency on these raw

materials affect Hari Co. For the economic factor, Philippines is currently

in a situation where economic growth is growing robustly by 6%. This is

positive for the economy as it means that more people can buy and afford

the product. With the social cultural factor, Hari Co. is situated in a

country where there are rise of health-conscious individuals. This could

give the company a great boost, as the company targets these individuals

as well. The technological aspect of the Philippines will benefit us

extremely as the company could immediately receive feedbacks regarding

on the product and as well as it is much cheaper to advertise and make the

product more well-known due to social media. With environmental, the

company is situated in a tropical island, with the production of the energy

bar, the raw materials that would be used, such as the dried fruits, will be

tropical. For the legal factor, the one that Hari Co. aspire to follow is the

Food and Drug Admission (FDA) Act of 2009 wherein it governs the

inspection, registrations, licensing and monitoring of health products as

Hari Co. wants to make sure that the product is the safest possible to be

consumed by the market. Next, one of the laws that affects the business

would beis The Magna Carta for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

(MSMEs), Republic Act No. 9501. It is an act that promotes

entrepreneurship in the Philippines by strengthening assistant programs

for Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises. This is due to the fact that

the initial idea of the business was a school project aimed towards social

entrepreneurship that will guide the student in the near future. Since this

is a school project, no taxation was required when the business was

conducted, therefore, no laws regarding taxes were applied.

II. Implementation Report

A. Human Resource Management

The President of the company is Adel John, who is responsible dictating

and leading where the company is heading to. He is also responsible with

the creation of the product which includes the experimentation, procuring

of the raw materials and as well as the insurance of the quality of the

product.

The Financial Manager is Gabriel Deano who is responsible for handling

most of the finances of the company while Adel John contributes to the rest Commented [LDA5]: Why only most? Who takes care
of the rest? You have to mention it here

of the finances. He, with Adel John, also works with the product to ensure

that the it is at its utmost quality.

The Communication Manager is Alejandro Rafael Constantino who is

responsible for contacting G.K. farm and as well as looking for the

practitioner. He also handles the responsibility for the packaging and some

aspects of the creation of the product.

The Creative Director is Lance Agustin who is responsible for most of the

marketing aspect of the company which includes the design of the

packaging, social media marketing and as well as video advertising. Commented [LDA6]: Check the parallelism of your
sentences when introducing your human resources. It
should be standard, ex:
B. Operational Plan The president of the company is _____, who is
responsible for _____.
For the Operational Plan, the Hari Co. Team took turns in doing their

responsibilities. There were no definite roles assigned during the whole

operation as it was entirely voluntary. Two were tasked to stay at each end

of the mall handing out fliers and samples while the rest of the two manned

the booth. Those two who manned the booth were either handling the cash

flow of the booth or were introducing and assisting the customer with

inquires.

C. Marketing

Hari Co. applied the emblem, a white fleur de lis with a deep red

background. This symbolizes direction, passion and intensity that the

brand wants to be known for. The company used the tagline, “Be Immortal”

to symbolize that everyone should always do their best to achieve greatness

in life.
On Hari Co.’s marketing, the company decided to promote heavily on

social media by having our own page in Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

With that, Hari Co. can post announcements regarding on selling our

product in the ABM fair together with the details. Hari Co. also promotes

De Lasa by making stickers, posters, fliers and even the aesthetic of the

booth itself. The stickers were applied to the packaging while the fliers were Commented [LDA7]: Where did you place these?

distributed out to possible consumers who were walking by. The poster were

posted on various social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

D. Financial Resources

(TO BE UPDATED)

E. Innovation Techniques

Hari Co.’s De Lasa Energy Ball is, first and foremost, a spherical,

bite sized granola product that is introduced into the market. Since it is

bite sized, it is less time consuming due to its diameter compared to a

length of an energy bar. This does not necessarily mean that the content

will be less. This is due to the fact that the product is heavily compact.

Making it weight a lot more than what it supposedly seems.

There is also an inclusion of dried tropical fruits, specifically dried

mango. This is due to the fact that not only it is a very popular local fruit,

it also offers numerous benefits that could assist the athletes such as,

promoting eye health, reduces muscle degeneration, high in fiber and

also increase nutrient absorption.

III. Recommendations Commented [LDA8]: Rephrase ALL.

Recommendations are Opportunities and Threats

A. Human Resources Analysis – external for the business, moving forward

manually labored process to machines in factories to produce and package

De Lasa Energy Ball in vast amounts. This could, not only speed up the

process, but could eventually lower down the cost due to the lessening of

human labor involved. Instead, Hari Co. will hire people only for

maintenance of the factory, quality control, financial labors, managements

and creative decision making.

But due to the inexperience with overseeing of all these process, Hari Co.

may have to hire an experienced executive to manage the company

temporarily. Hari Co. lack of expertise might lead to mismanagement and

multiple errors that could eventually lead to company into trouble.

B. Operations

Hari Co. will invest heavily in research and technology to provide a much

more effective and healthier energy ball compared to its current state. This

mean that the fruits, nuts and oats used will be much more efficient for

athletes, all the while it being local. Hari Co. will also invest in research

on agriculture to find alternatives for a faster, safer and more effective

growth for local resources. This is also to promote the local agriculture

industry.
At the same time, Hari Co. plans to discover a more effective and faster

mean of production and delivery. This includes shipping around directly to

schools, convenience stores, nationwide and eventually, shipping outside

the country. This is to ensure that the product always arrives on time while

fresh from the production.

Hari Co. wants to save some of its funds on customer service as well. Hari

Co. will apply a service model based on Apple, which is the best in the

current market. It is warm, personalized and always an effort to find out

what the costumer really needed. Hari Co. will train their employees to

learn how to listen effectively to costumers as well because the company

truly cares for their consumers.

Yet, there are some several threats to this and the biggest of it will be the

either the lack of funds, or overusing the expenses of the company. Hari

Co. will learn on how to balance it with the hiring of a financial manager

who will decide whether or not to push through with it.

C. Marketing

The Hari Co. Team plans to focus heavily on Student Athletes when it

comes with marketing, since they are also the company’s target market.

Hari Co. would make numerous advertisement on social media, such as

video advertisements, campaign and posters, that features famous Filipino

student athletes.
Hari Co. saw an opportunity in sponsoring the student athletes who are

struggling financially. This way, not only Hari Co. could assist them and

lead to towards a better future, Hari Co. could also practice their ideals

and their core, “Empowering Lives”.

However, this could pose a problem. Athletics here in the Philippines are

not as prevalent, not as well supported and not as well funded compared

to other countries such as the USA and China. So, there will be a chance

where, if Hari Co. portrayed a certain Filipino Athlete, the majority might

fail to connect with the advertisement. Hari Co. wants to break that stigma

and shift the marketing plan in the near future. Hari Co. would want to

honor great Filipino athletes for the next campaign.

D. Financial Management

Hari Co. could, one day, see itself hiring a corporate accountant

and a professional financial manager to handle all the financial

process and the taxes of the company. This is to ensure that Hari Co.

could monitor their financial position in the market effectively, as this

could greatly affect decision making.

Next, Hari Co. shall start setting realistic financial goals for the

company. Hari Co. will setup a benchmark that would suit the current

market state. This will not only help the company anticipates

different types of losses, but keep the company steady.

A threat that the company identified and will always be present

is the threat of bankruptcy. There are several factors that could lead

to it, such as loans and market condition.

For a starting-up business such as Hari Co., they are in dire need

of investment. Yet, once the loaner senses that the business is

struggling, the loaner might not be willing to grant additional funding.

The market condition could also affect the company greatly. this is

due to the factors such as poor economic conditions or the change of

trends.

If Hari Co. wants to stay ahead of the curve, they would have to

always innovate and think creatively.

E. Corporate Social Responsible

Since De Lasa Energy Ball is made entirely out of local raw

materials, it is an opportunity for the company to reach out to

sustainable organizations such as G.K. Enchanted Farm and

Salikneta Farm. This is to not only support the struggling industry of

agriculture here in the Philippines, this could also alleviate poverty

as Hari Co. is determined to create more job opportunities for the

Filipinos.

Hari Co.’s next plan is to support adolescents who are struggling

financially. The company will not only provide them an education by

granting them scholarship, but at the same time, empower them to

become great athletes that will shine in the future. As stated earlier,

Hari Co. really wants to push the local athletic industry here in the

Philippines to a higher level.

However, Hari Co. might struggle with criticism outside the

company. Cynics or consumers who failed to connect with the

company might dubbed the plans as “insincere” or “shallow”. Some

company’s CSR plan might offend some consumers such as the

scholarship for the adolescents, as Hari Co. plans not to include adult

athletes availability for the scholarship.

Resources spent on CSR could also have been used to conduct

more research on the product, more employees and investments for

technology. In other words, a plethora of opportunity cost would be

utilized in investing on CSR.
