Classroom Management Philosophy

My Classroom management philosophy includes me providing a classroom that is

considered a safe and comfortable atmosphere that allows students to maximize their

opportunities for learning. I believe when dealing with classroom management a good approach

is one that sets boundaries. Setting boundaries allows students to perform to the best of their

abilities because they know what’s expected of them. Adjusting classroom expectations is also a

key to having good classroom management because what may have worked at the beginning of

the year may not continue working as time goes on. Engagement plays a big role when it comes

to classroom management Knowing that you have every student involved limits the classroom

interruptions. When students are engaged in the lesson it is hard from them to get off track which

is usually the cause of poor classroom management. When students are given busy work that

lacks any breaks it is hard from them to get off track. Of course, you can expect some

interruptions but that is why it is good to have a plan in place that helps with handling situation

that make arise. In order to establish procedures, routines, and behavior expectations in my

future classroom I will start off by setting ground rules for my students. I will then begin to add

on rules as the year comes along and set consequences for actions that are not allowed within my

classroom. Depending on the different students who have behavior problems every day I will set

those students specific rule and procedures to follow that fit them. My classroom management

strategies will meet the diverse needs of students, achieve instructional goals, and effectively

involve families because I will make them to fit my students. I will develop a plan that not only

the students will have access to but their families as well. I will keep the lines of communication
open so that both me, my students, and their families are connected and can build a classroom

base off of support and learn from each other.
