 Introduction

We Dhawal, Mitul & Navin interviewed Dr. Pratap Vishnu Thosar on date 18-jan-2019 who
is currently providing services at Thosar Hospital located at Killa Pardi.

Dr. Pratap is one of the best Doctor available at killa Pardi. At age of 72 Dr. Pratap still
working as General Medicine Doctor/Family Physician at killa Pardi.

Dr. Pratap has provided services at Govt. Cottage Hospital, Silvassa.

In 1975 Dr. Pratap has starting working at Thosar Hospital located at killa pardi as family
doctor.

He was born in farmer’s family in small village known as Nani Tambadi which located near
the UT Dadra Nagar Haveli. From the young age Dr, Pratap Thosar wanted to become a doctor to
serve society, to help others.

Dr. Pratap completed his MBBS while facing many challenges one of being financial
problem for pursuing MBBS which he overcome with help of his family members & his friends and
today he is living very successful life.

Dr. Pratap is also Trustee of Helping hand charitable trust, this trust objective is providing
caring to elderly bedridden senior citizens in homely environment with hospital like facility. Helping
hand charitable trust also undertake free medical camp for senior citizens one in month.

When we asked his to give us some advise for became a successful and good person then he
said “Set some goal, to achieve that goal you may have to face many types of struggles, fight those
problem happily and then you will get success which will incomparable that will give you true
happiness and satisfaction”.
 About the Person

Dr. Pratap Vishnu Thosar

Dr. Pratap is a doctor working General Medicine Doctor/Family Physician at killa Pardi.
Currently he is working at Thosar Hospital located at pardi.

Dr. Pratap has studied Bachelor of Science at BKM College Valsad after that he has studied
for 2 years at Surat medical college And in the end 3 years at BJ medical college located at
Ahmedabad where he obtained MBBS Degree in year 1969.

After completing MBBS he got job at Govt. Cottage hospital at silvassa, he worked for 2
years at Govt. Cottage hospital after that he resigned and moved to killa pardi. In june 1973 he joined
pardi private practice worked there for 2 years. In 1975 he started his own private hospital named
Thosar Hospital at killa pardi and since then continued to provide services there. Even today at age
of 72 he still providing his services to society.

Dr. Pratap has two childrens. Siddharth Thosar & Rajeshri Thosar both are MBBS degree
holder and working at Thosar Hospital at killa pardi.

He was born in farmer’s family in small village known as Nani Tambadi which located near
the UT Dadra Nagar Haveli. From the young age Dr, Pratap Thosar wanted to become a doctor to
serve society. Even after completing MBBS Dr. Thosar wanted to continue his studies but because of
some personnel issues he had to give up on it and get a job.
 Challenges

When Dr. Pratap went to BJ medical college, Ahmedabad to became MBBS doctor, at that
time his financial situation was no so good and fees of getting admission was Rs.65,000 and he had
only Rs.40000 in the bank and Rs.5000 with himself.

He somehow managed to gather remaining amount of money from his family members &
friends and successfully able to get admission into MBBS Course.

Doctor has also faced many challenges in his life, but anyhow he able succeeded.

Achievements/Success

• At present active in the swadhya mandal trust activities.

• Trustee of Helping hand charitable trust, this trust objective is providing caring to
elderly bedridden senior citizens in homely environment with hospital like facility.
• 25 years of services at various posotions in pardi education society.
• Trustee of Pardi Mahajan trust.
• One of best doctor available in pardi region.
• Various camp organized by lions club to help peoples, Dr. Pratap also participated in
those activities, especially I-camp which help blind people to get eyesight.
• Founder and Chairman of Vishva Hindu Parishad Pardi.
• Always ready to help others. Member of various camp established to help society.
 Message

Conclusion

As we saw glimpse of Dr Pratap V. Thosar life during these interview, we came to know that from
childhood to today he has faced many hardships in life to reach the position he has today, from
financial problem to others problem to complete his MBBS but he had never lost hope and drive to
became a person to whom other look up to. He as people also always ready to serve the society. He
also became member of various camp conducted to help others.

What we learned from Dr Pratap V. Thosar is that we should have some goal in life & try our hardest
to achieve that goal, we may come across various hardships and challenges to achieve our goal, but
without loosing our hope we have to overcome those hardship & when we succeed we will get
unimaginable happiness. We also learn that as person we should always be ready to help person in
need & society.
