34:1 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫מֹׁשֶ ה ־ אֶ ל‬ ‫ְּפ ָסל‬ ‫ְל ־‬ ‫ְׁשנֵי‬ ‫לֻ חֹת ־‬ ‫ֲבנִ ים‬
ָ ‫א‬

. And the LORD said unto
u·iamr ieue al - mshe phsl - l·k shni - lchth abnim Moses, Hew thee two tables
and·he-is-saying Yahweh to Moses carve-you ! for·you two-of tablets-of stones of stone like unto the first:
and I will write upon [these]
‫ּכָ ִראׁשֹנִ ים‬ ‫ְוכָ ַת ְב ִּתי‬ ‫ַהּלֻ חֹת ־ עַ ל‬ ‫ַה ְּד ָב ִרים ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ָהיּו‬ ‫ַהּלֻ חֹת ־ עַ ל‬ tables the words that were
in the first tables, which

thou brakest.
as·the·first-ones and·I-write on the·tablets » the·words which they-became on the·tablets

‫ָה ִראׁשֹנִ ים‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ִׁש ַּב ְר ָּת‬ :

34:2 ‫ֶהיֵה‬
ְ ‫ו‬ ‫נָכ&ן‬ ‫ֹקר‬
ֶ ‫לַ ּב‬ ‫ית‬
ָ ‫ְועָ ִל‬ ‫ֹקר‬
ֶ ‫ַבּב‬ ‫ַהר ־ אֶ ל‬

And be ready in the
u·eie nkun l·bqr u·olith b·bqr al - er morning, and come up in
and·bebc-you ! being-nready to·the·morning and·you-ascend in·the·morning to mountain-of the morning unto mount
Sinai, and present thyself
‫ִסינַי‬ ‫ְונִ ּצַ ְב ָּת‬ ‫ִלי‬ ‫ׁשָ ם‬ ‫ר ֹאׁש ־ עַ ל‬ ‫ָה ָהר‬ : there to me in the top of the
mount.

Sinai and·you-nstation-yourself for·me there on summit-of the·mountain

34:3 ‫ְו ִאיׁש‬ ‫ַיעֲלֶ ה ־ ל ֹא‬ )‫ִע ָּמ‬ ‫ְוגַם‬ ‫ִאיׁש ־‬ ‫אַ ל‬ ‫י ֵָרא ־‬

And no man shall come
u·aish la - iole om·k u·gm - aish al - ira up with thee, neither let any
and·man not he-shall-ascend with·you and·moreover man must-not-be he-is-being-seen man be seen throughout all
the mount; neither let the
‫ְּבכָ ל‬ ‫ָה ָהר ־‬ ‫ּגַם‬ ‫ַהּצ ֹאן ־‬ ‫ְו ַה ָּב ָקר‬ ‫אַ ל‬ ‫יִ ְרעּו ־‬ ‫־ אֶ ל‬ flocks nor herds feed before
that mount.

ָ ‫א‬ ‫ּכָ ִראׁשֹנִ ים‬ ‫ַׁשּכֵ ם‬
ְ ‫ַוּי‬ ‫מֹׁשֶ ה‬

And he hewed two tables
u·iphsl shni - lchth abnim k·rashnim u·ishkm mshe of stone like unto the first;
and·he-is-carving two-of tablets-of stones as·the·first-ones and·he-is-crising-early Moses and Moses rose up early in
the morning, and went up
‫ֹקר‬
ֶ ‫ַבּב‬ ‫ַוּיַעַ ל‬ ‫ַהר ־ אֶ ל‬ ‫ִסינַי‬ ‫ּכַ אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ִצּוָה‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ &‫אֹת‬ unto mount Sinai, as the
LORD had commanded

him, and took in his hand
in·the·morning and·he-is-ascending to mountain-of Sinai as·which he-minstructed Yahweh »·him
the two tables of stone.
‫וַּיִ ַּקח‬ &‫ְּביָד‬ ‫ְׁשנֵי‬ ‫לֻ חֹת‬ ‫ֲבנִ ים‬
ָ ‫ א‬:

and·he-is-taking in·hand-of·him two-of tablets-of stones

34:5 ‫ַוּי ֵֶרד‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ֶּבעָ נָן‬ ‫וַּיִ ְתיַּצֵ ב‬ &‫ִעּמ‬ ‫ׁשָ ם‬

. And the LORD
u·ird ieue b·onn u·ithitzb om·u shm descended in the cloud, and
and·he-is-descending Yahweh in·the·cloud and·he-is-stationing-himself with·him there stood with him there, and
proclaimed the name of the
‫וַּיִ ְק ָרא‬ ‫ְבׁשֵ ם‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ : LORD.

and·he-is-calling in·name-of Yahweh

34:6 ‫עבֹר‬
ֲ ‫ַו ַּי‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ּפָ נָיו ־ עַ ל‬ ‫וַּיִ ְק ָרא‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ַרחּום אֵ ל‬

And the LORD passed by
u·iobr ieue ol - phni·u u·iqra ieue ieue al rchum before him, and proclaimed,
and·he-is-passing Yahweh on faces-of·him and·he-is-calling Yahweh Yahweh El compassionate The LORD, The LORD
God, merciful and gracious,
‫ְו ַחּנּון‬ )‫אֶ ֶר‬ ‫אַ ּפַ יִ ם‬ ‫ְו ַרב‬ ‫ֶח ֶסד ־‬ ‫ֱמת‬
ֶ ‫ֶוא‬ : longsuffering, and abundant
in goodness and truth,
u·chnun ark aphim u·rb - chsd u·amth :
and·gracious slow-of angers and·abundant-of kindness and·truth

34:7 ‫נֹצֵ ר‬ ‫ֶח ֶסד‬ ‫לָ אֲלָ ִפים‬ ‫נֹׂשֵ א‬ ‫עָ &ן‬ ‫וָפֶ ׁשַ ע‬ ‫ְו ַחּטָ אָ ה‬

Keeping mercy for
ntzr chsd l·alphim nsha oun u·phsho u·chtae thousands, forgiving
preserving kindness to·the·thousands bearing depravity and·transgression and·sin iniquity and transgression
and sin, and that will by no
‫ְונ ֵַּקה‬ ‫ל ֹא‬ ‫יְ נ ֶַּקה‬ ‫ֹקד‬
ֵ ‫ּפ‬ ‫עֲ&ן‬ ‫אָ ב&ת‬ ‫ָּבנִ ים ־ עַ ל‬ means clear [the guilty];
visiting the iniquity of the
u·nqe la inqe phqd oun abuth ol - bnim
fathers upon the children,
and·to-mhold-innocent not he-shall-mhold-innocent visiting depravity-of fathers on sons
and upon the children's
children, unto the third and
‫ְועַ ל‬ ‫ְּבנֵי ־‬ ‫ִׁשּלֵ ִׁשים ־ עַ ל ָבנִ ים‬ ‫ְועַ ל‬ ‫ִר ֵּב ִעים ־‬ : to the fourth [generation].

and·on sons-of sons on third-generations and·on fourth-generations

34:8 ‫הר‬
ֵ ‫וַיְ ַמ‬ ‫מֹׁשֶ ה‬ ‫וַּיִ ּקֹד‬ ‫אַ ְרצָ ה‬ ‫וַּיִ ְׁש ָּתחּו‬ :

And Moses made haste,
u·imer mshe u·iqd artz·e u·ishthchu : and bowed his head toward
and·he-is-mhastening Moses and·he-is-bowing-head earth·ward and·he-is-bowing-down-himself the earth, and worshipped.

34:9 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫נָא ־ ִאם‬ ‫אתי‬
ִ ָ‫ָמצ‬ ‫ֵחן‬ ‫ְּבעֵ ינֶי‬ ‫דנָי‬
ֹ ‫א‬
ֲ ) ֶ‫יֵל‬ ‫נָא ־‬

And he said, If now I have

and·he-is-saying if please ! I-found grace in·eyes-of·you my-Lord he-shall-go please ! Lord, let my Lord, I pray

ֲ ‫ְּב ִק ְר ֵּבנּו‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫עַ ם‬ ‫ְקׁשֵ ה ־‬ ‫עֹ ֶרף ־‬ ‫ְו ָסלַ ְח ָּת הּוא‬ ‫לַ עֲ&נֵנּו‬ a stiffnecked people; and

my-Lord in·within-of·us that people stiff-of nape he and·you-pardon to·depravity-of·us sin, and take us for thine
inheritance.

ְ ‫ּונְ ַח ְל ָּתנּו‬ :

34:10 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫ִהּנֵה‬ ‫אָ נ ִֹכי‬ ‫ּכ ֵֹרת‬ ‫ְּב ִרית‬ ‫ֶנגֶד‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫עַ ְּמ ־‬

. And he said, Behold, I
u·iamr ene anki krth brith ngd kl - om·k make a covenant: before all
and·he-is-saying behold ! I cutting covenant in-front-of all-of people-of·you thy people I will do
marvels, such as have not
‫אֶ עֱׂשֶ ה‬ ‫נִ ְפלָ אֹת‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫נִ ְב ְראּו ־ ל ֹא‬ ‫ְבכָ ל‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ ־‬ ‫ּובכָ ל‬
ְ ‫־‬ been done in all the earth,
nor in any nation: and all
aoshe nphlath ashr la - nbrau b·kl - e·artz u·b·kl -
the people among which
I-shall-do being-nmarvels which not they-were-created in·all-of the·earth and·in·any-of
thou [art] shall see the work
of the LORD: for it [is] a
‫ַהּג&יִ ם‬ ‫ְו ָראָ ה‬ ‫כָ ל‬ ‫ָהעָ ם ־‬ ‫ְב ִק ְרּב& אַ ָּתה ־ אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ַמעֲׂשֵ ה ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ terrible thing that I will do

ָ ‫ְׁש‬ ‫ְל ־‬ ‫אֵ ת‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫אָ נ ִֹכי‬ ‫ְמצַ ְּו‬ ‫ַהּי&ם‬ ‫ִהנְ נִ י‬ ‫ג ֵֹרׁש‬

Observe thou that which
shmr - l·k ath ashr anki mtzu·k e·ium en·ni grsh I command thee this day:
observe-you ! for·you » which I minstructing-of·you the·day behold·me ! driving-out behold, I drive out before
thee the Amorite, and the
‫ִמּפָ נֶי‬ ‫אמ ִֹרי ־ אֶ ת‬
ֱ ‫ָה‬ ‫ְו ַה ְּכ ַנעֲנִ י‬ ‫ְו ַה ִח ִּתי‬ ‫ְו ַה ְּפ ִרּזִ י‬ Canaanite, and the Hittite,
and the Perizzite, and the
m·phni·k ath - e·amri u·e·knoni u·e·chthi u·e·phrzi
Hivite, and the Jebusite.

‫ְו ַה ִח ִּוי‬ ‫בּוסי‬

34:12 ‫מר‬
ֶ ָ‫ִהּׁש‬ ‫ְל‬ ‫ּפֶ ן‬ ‫ִּת ְכרֹת ־‬ ‫ְּב ִרית‬ ‫ְלי&ׁשֵ ב‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫אַ ָּתה‬

Take heed to thyself, lest
eshmr l·k phn - thkrth brith l·iushb e·artz ashr athe thou make a covenant with
nguard-you ! to·you lest you-are-cutting covenant to·one-dwelling-of the·land which you the inhabitants of the land
whither thou goest, lest it be
‫ָּבא‬ ‫יה‬
ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ ‫ּפֶ ן‬ ‫יִ ְהיֶה ־‬ ‫מ&קׁש‬
ֵ ‫ְל‬ ‫ְּב ִק ְר ֶּב‬ : for a snare in the midst of
thee:

entering on·her lest he-is-becoming to·trap in·within-of·you

34:13 ‫ִּכי‬ ‫ֹתם ־ אֶ ת‬

ָ ‫ִמזְ ְּבח‬ ‫ִּתּתֹצּון‬ ‫ְואֶ ת‬ ‫ֹתם ־‬
ָ ‫ַמּצֵ ב‬

But ye shall destroy their
ki ath - mzbchth·m ththtzu·n u·ath - mtzbth·m altars, break their images,
that » altars-of·them you(p)-shall-break-down and·» monuments-of·them and cut down their groves:

‫ְּתׁשַ ֵּברּון‬ ‫ְואֶ ת‬ ‫אֲׁשֵ ָריו ־‬ ‫ִּת ְכרֹתּון‬ :

thshbru·n u·ath - ashri·u thkrthu·n :
you(p)-shall-mbreak and·» fetishes-of-happiness-of·him you(p)-shall-cut-down

34:14 ‫ִּכי‬ ‫ל ֹא‬ ‫חוֶה‬

ֲ ‫ִת ְׁש ַּת‬ ‫ְלאֵ ל‬ ‫אַ ֵחר‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ַקּנָא‬ &‫ְׁשמ‬ ‫אֵ ל‬

For thou shalt worship
ki la thshthchue l·al achr ki ieue qna shm·u al no other god: for the
that not you-shall-bow-down-yourself to·El another that Yahweh jealous name-of·him El LORD, whose name [is]
Jealous, [is] a jealous God:
‫ַקּנָא‬ ‫ הּוא‬:

34:15 ‫ּפֶ ן‬ ‫ִּת ְכרֹת ־‬ ‫ְּב ִרית‬ ‫ְלי&ׁשֵ ב‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ‬ ‫ְוזָנּו‬ ‫אַ ח ֲֵרי‬

Lest thou make a

lest you-are-cutting covenant to·one-dwelling-of the·land and·they-prostitute after inhabitants of the land, and
they go a whoring after their

ֶ ‫ה‬:ֱ
ֵ ‫א‬ ‫ְוז ְָבחּו‬ ‫יהם‬
ֶ ‫ה‬:‫א‬
ֵ ֵ‫ל‬ ‫ְו ָק ָרא‬ ‫ְל‬ ‫ְואָ כַ ְל ָּת‬ gods, and do sacrifice unto
their gods, and [one] call
alei·em u·zbchu l·alei·em u·qra l·k u·aklth
thee, and thou eat of his
Elohim-of·them and·they-sacrifice to·Elohim-of·them and·he-calls to·you and·you-eat
sacrifice;
&‫ִמּזִ ְבח‬ :

ָ ‫ְולָ ַק ְח‬ ‫ֹתיו‬
ָ ‫ִמ ְּבנ‬ ‫ְל ָבנֶי‬ ‫ְוזָנּו‬ ‫ֹתיו‬
ָ ‫ְבנ‬

And thou take of their
u·lqchth m·bnthi·u l·bni·k u·znu bnthi·u daughters unto thy sons,
and·you-take from·daughters-of·him for·sons-of·you and·they-prostitute daughters-of·him and their daughters go a
whoring after their gods,
‫אַ ח ֲֵרי‬ ‫יהן‬
ֶ ‫ה‬:ֱ
ֵ ‫א‬ ‫ְו ִהזְ נּו‬ ‫ָּבנֶי ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫אַ ח ֲֵרי‬ ‫יהן‬
ֶ ‫ה‬:ֱ
ֵ ‫א‬ : and make thy sons go a
whoring after their gods.

. The feast of unleavened

ִ ‫ִצ ִּו‬ ‫ְלמ&עֵ ד‬ ‫ח ֶֹדׁש‬ ‫ָהאָ ִביב‬ ‫ִּכי‬ commanded thee, in the
time of the month Abib: for
mtzuth ashr tzuith·k l·muod chdsh e·abib ki
in the month Abib thou
unleavened-breads which I-minstructed·you for·appointed-time-of month-of the·Abib that
camest out from Egypt.
‫ְּבח ֶֹדׁש‬ ‫ָהאָ ִביב‬ ‫את‬
ָ ָ‫יָצ‬ ‫ִמ ִּמ ְצ ָריִ ם‬ :
b·chdsh e·abib itzath m·mtzrim :
in·month-of the·Abib you-came-forth from·Egypt

34:19 ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ּפֶ טֶ ר ־‬ ‫ִלי ֶר ֶחם‬ ‫ְוכָ ל‬ ‫ִמ ְקנְ  ־‬ ‫ִּתּזָכָ ר‬ ‫ּפֶ טֶ ר‬

All that openeth the
kl - phtr rchm l·i u·kl - mqn·k thzkr phtr matrix [is] mine; and every
every-of one-opening-up-of womb to·me and·every-of cattle-of·you male opening-up-of firstling among thy cattle,
[whether] ox or sheep, [that
‫ׁש&ר‬ ‫וָׂשֶ ה‬ : is male].

ֲ ‫ִּת ְפ ֶּדה‬ ‫ְבׂשֶ ה‬ ‫ְו ִאם‬ ‫ל ֹא ־‬ ‫ִת ְפ ֶּדה‬

But the firstling of an ass
u·phtr chmur thphde b·she u·am - la thphde thou shalt redeem with a
and·one-opening-up-of donkey you-shall-ransom in·flockling and·if not you-are-ransoming lamb: and if thou redeem
[him] not, then shalt thou
&‫ַוע ֲַר ְפּת‬ ‫ּכֹל‬ ‫ְּבכ&ר‬ ‫ָּבנֶי‬ ‫ִּת ְפ ֶּדה‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫־‬ break his neck. All the
firstborn of thy sons thou
u·orphth·u kl bkur bni·k thphde u·la -
shalt redeem. And none
and·you-break-neck·him every-of firstborn-of sons-of·you you-shall-ransom and·not
shall appear before me
empty.
‫י ֵָראּו‬ ‫פָ נַי‬ ‫יקם‬
ָ ‫ֵר‬ :

they-shall-nappear faces-of·me empty-handed

34:21 ‫ׁשֵ ׁשֶ ת‬ ‫עבֹד י ִָמים‬

ֲ ‫ַּת‬ ‫ּובּי&ם‬
ַ ‫יעי‬
ִ ‫ַה ְּׁש ִב‬ ‫ִּת ְׁשּבֹת‬ ‫ֶּב ָח ִריׁש‬
21
Six days thou shalt work,
shshth imim thobd u·b·ium e·shbioi thshbth b·chrish but on the seventh day thou
six-of days you-shall-serve and·in·the·day the·seventh you-shall-cease in·the·plowing-season shalt rest: in earing time and
in harvest thou shalt rest.
‫ּוב ָּק ִציר‬
ַ ‫ִּת ְׁשּבֹת‬ :
u·b·qtzir thshbth :
and·in·the·harvest you-shall-cease

34:22 ‫חג‬
ַ ‫ְו‬ ‫ׁשָ ֻבעֹ ת‬ ‫ַּתעֲׂשֶ ה‬ ‫ְל‬ ‫ּכּורי‬
ֵ ‫ִּב‬ ‫ְק ִציר‬ ‫ִח ִּטים‬
22
And thou shalt observe
u·chg shboth thoshe l·k bkuri qtzir chtim the feast of weeks, of the
and·celebration-of weeks you-shall-do for·you firstfruits-of harvest-of wheats firstfruits of wheat harvest,
and the feast of ingathering
‫ְו ַחג‬ ‫ָהאָ ִסיף‬ ‫ְּתקּופַ ת‬ ‫ַהּׁשָ נָה‬ : at the year's end.

and·celebration-of the·ingathering revolution-of the·year

34:23 ‫ׁש‬: ָ‫ׁש‬ ‫ְּפעָ ִמים‬ ‫ַּבּׁשָ נָה‬ ‫י ֵָראֶ ה‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫כּור ־‬
ְ ְ‫ז‬ ‫אֶ ת‬ ‫ְּפנֵי ־‬ ‫דן‬

three times in·the·year he-shall-nappear every-of male-of·you with faces-of the·lord appear before the Lord

For I will cast out the

that I-shall-cevict nations from·faces-of·you and·I-cmake-wide » boundary-of·you enlarge thy borders: neither
shall any man desire thy

ְ ‫ַּבע‬ ‫לֵ ָרא&ת‬ ‫אֶ ת‬ ‫־‬ land, when thou shalt go up
to appear before the LORD

Thou shalt not offer the

The first of the firstfruits

first-of firstfruits-of ground-of·you you-shall-cbring house-of Yahweh Elohim-of·you not unto the house of the LORD
thy God. Thou shalt not
‫ְת ַבּׁשֵ ל‬ ‫ַּבחֲלֵ ב ּגְ ִדי‬ &‫ִאּמ‬ : ‫פ‬ seethe a kid in his mother's
milk.

ֲ ַ‫א‬ ‫ְוכָ ל‬ ‫ְּבנֵי ־‬ ‫יִ ְׂש ָראֵ ל‬ ‫מֹׁשֶ ה ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ְו ִהּנֵה‬ ‫ָק ַרן‬

And when Aaron and all
