Islamic University is located in
Madinah, the first and foremost capital
in the history of Islam, The Prophet’s Mosque, Quba Mosque,

The name “Islamic University” is associated with a moderate and
middle-course Islam. It is also linked to Saudi Arabia, which is
universally respected due to the values, culture and scientific
and architectural development it represents.
The university derives its significance from its spatial dimension,
where it is located in Madinah, the bedrock of Islam from where
it spread to other parts of the world.
The institution is a Saudi university with a universal mission, and
has been accredited by the Education Evaluation Commission. It
has various academic, educational and research partnerships

 Preparatory Year
The preparatory year offers an integrated and intensive academic
program aimed at improving the outputs of Islamic University, and
preparing students of the university to integrate into the university
educational environment after passing the stages of public education.
The preparatory year program is carefully designed to provide students
with the necessary basic skills to enable them study in the scientific
colleges. The program contains a combination of intensive academic
courses and English language skills. Upon successful completion of the
study and in accordance with the terms of the Charter of the Preparatory
Year, students are allowed to join a bachelor›s degree program at one of
the scientific colleges: Engineering, Computer, Science.

College of Science
The College of Science at Islamic University is one of the
new-fangled colleges that was established based on a
Royal approval on 28 / 5 / 1431 AH and it began operation
during the 1433 /1434 AH academic year.
The college is concerned with offering programs aimed
at motivating students to innovate and promote academic
research to serve the educational and research process
and community service.
The college has the following departments: Mathematics
Department, Physics Department and Chemistry
Department. There are also a number of scientific
laboratories well-equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory
tools and equipment to achieve high quality of education.
College of Computer and
Information Systems
The College of Computer and Information Systems is concerned with
education, academic research and community service in computer
science based on international standards, techniques and high quality
outputs by offering academic and research programs accredited by the
international programmatic accreditation board (ABET).
College of Engineering
The College of Engineering pays attention to education, academic
research and community service in the various domains of
engineering, and seeks to excel and lead in engineering education
and academic research.
The college offers a range of state-of-the-art Master›s programs:
Master of Science in Renewable Energy, Master of Science in
Engineering and Technology Management, Master of Science in
Mechatronics and Robotics.

of the University
• Applicant must be of good conduct and
behavior.
• Must undertake to abide by the university
rules and regulations.
• Must be medically fit.
• Must successfully pass any test or personal
interview set for him by the relevant
authority.
• Must be fully dedicated to study.
• His high school certificate should either be
issued by a government school or private
school within or outside the Kingdom with
certificate equivalence acceptable to Islamic
University.
• Should not have obtained a high school
certificate in a period more than five years at
the time of application.
• Scholarship students must not be more than
twenty-five years old at the beginning of
studies.
• Applicant to the College of Holy Quran must
have memorized the Holy Quran in full.

The ceremony represents sixty years of toil and seventy
thousand graduates from 200 countries and provinces,

The university city has all the potentials and facilities that
contribute to supporting and developing the educational
process for students and teaching staff, which includes
the health center, teaching staff housing, student’s
housing, Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim’s mosque,
Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz’s mosque, the Central Library
and various sports facilities.

The University provides its students with
accommodation equipped with everything they
need within the university city. A number of housing
units has also been allocated for married students.

The Walkway
The university provided its staff with a two-
lane walkway: one for walking and the other for
cycling. The walkway has many green spaces
and it was established taking into account the
needs of people with special needs.

The university has a number of diverse facilities

such as football pitches and volleyball courts,
swimming pools and a number of supporting
facilities.

King Sa’ud Hall

King Sa’ud Hall can accommodate 1500 people,

while As-Salam Hall can accommodate 600 people.
There is also the Historic Hall. These halls are
distinguished by audio and video equipment.

Center
The Medical Center provides the necessary health
care for the university staff including students,
faculty members and administrative staff.
The university medical center is equipped with the
latest medical equipment and professional cadres.

The Museum
In the month of Safar, 1439 AH, His Excellency
the University President, Dr. Hatim bin Hasan
Al-Marzouqi issued a decision to establish
a historical museum at Islamic University to
support the care for the history of Islamic
University.

The University Library contains a wide variety of books in
various Islamic legal and scientific disciplines, which can
be accessed through the latest devices and equipment with
the help of a constellation of specialized competencies
trained to handle various information vessels and sources
of knowledge in different forms and present them free
of charge to visitors through the different outlets of the
library, as well as a number of precious manuscripts.

Teaching Staff Housing

The university has established approximately 312
apartments for the teaching staff at the university,
which are subject to the standards of safety,
maintenance and services.

The University Restaurant offers 3 square meals
to students at taken prices at specific times. The
food is prepared by skilled staff according to the
highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

The University Mosque

The university has 3 mosques where five regular

prayers are offered. Sheikh Ibn Baz Mosque is
the largest and can accommodate about 3000
worshippers. Holy Qur’an memorization circles
are also held in it.
