1. My outline would include the following:
a. Introduction
i. The purpose of the study is to investigate how collaboration between a
classroom teacher and a librarian influences student learning.
b. Literature review
i. Existing research shows increased student test scores when a
classroom teacher collaborates with the librarian.
c. Methodology
i. This was a mixed-methods research where I was a participant in the
research. I collected quantitative data from second graders as well as
survey data from the second grade teacher and her students.
d. Findings and results
i. The findings and results mirrored that of existing literature. Students
scores increased as did their engagement. Teachers also had an
improved outlook on collaboration.
e. Discussion
i. Implications of this study show that more teachers and librarians
should collaborate. It should also be noted that this could be evidence
for a change needed in my district.
f. References
i. With more than 13 examples, many of these studies discussed
challenges, benefits, and examples of collaboration between teachers
and librarians.
