Technology
Did you know technology is one of the most useful devices in the world but also one of
the deadliest. We use technology to help us in our daily lives, cooking, calendars, timers, etc. but
sometimes we use it when it's unnecessary or to the point to where it becomes a hazard like
distracted drivers. While supporters of technology claim that it helps us in our daily lives, the
Technology has helped make things easier for us in our daily lives. Amy Williams, a
Southern California journalist who is devoted to teach other parents how to easily and properly
raise their kids, had some words to say on how technology helps us in our daily lives. Since
engineers have created the smartphone it's made life two times easier for parents, whether it's
“paying bills, checking the schedule” to see if you had anything planned or even reminding you
“when your kids birthday is”(Williams,9). Amy Williams is just trying to show how technology
has made life easier for a parent or even students paying bills and getting reminded when needed.
“Cell phones also allow families to text updates on activities practices, and even grocery
and what to get and even help us communicate it to others. A lot of people take technology for
granted and almost always will until one day it's taken away and then they will understand how
much we use it in our daily lives and how easy it can make things.

How does technology help us besides as an alarm or as a calendar. Well Peter Economy,
the author of 85 best selling books, associate editor and ghostwriter, had some very good points
on how technology helps us. Technology has made “connecting with others a lot easier” than it
was before(Economy,4). Without technology we wouldn't be able to just make a easy call or
facetime to a family member to stay in touch. “Society cannot continue without communication.
Another prime example of how technology has made things easier for people in their daily lives.
Even with all the good things that technology does for us in our lives, we also tend to let
it be a distraction causing injuries and deaths every day. “According to the police, a flurry of text
messages and phone calls were sent on the 17 year old drivers cell phone moments before the
accident(Sundeen,1). An accident occurred on the road because the 17 year old was distracted on
her phone while driving, costing the life of her own. If she would've put it away, turned it off our
not had picked it up she would still be alive and that also goes for thousands of other people who
were distracted while driving. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among 13-to
19-year-olds in the U.S.(Sundeen,3). About 45% of teens from the ages 16-20 text and drive,
which explains why “motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death.” If we keep letting
our phones be distractions in the car it will keep causing injuries and deaths every day.
Not only has technology distracted us it's “essentially destroyed our ability to
how the attention span fell from 12 seconds in 2000 to 8 in 2014.” We lose focus faster

Technology does help us in our daily lives, but it also hurts us because of the way we use
it. Supporters of technology claim how it helps us in our daily lives, but than opponents say it
hurts us more than helps. Neither position seems stronger, however, both have very good points
on how useful it is and how deadly it can be at times. To help prevent injuries or possible deaths
put your phone away while in a car and don't let it be a distraction.

want whether it's over social media or text, and now we also can receive news reports right in our
pocket instead of waiting at our front doors. Peter Economy, the author of 85 best selling books,
