I. Job Purpose:

To oversee the design and development of the curriculum, and deliver a range of
programmes of teaching to students, in order to ensure teaching within the
quality assurance framework of the College. To lead the development and
implementation of the College’s research strategy and co-ordinate research
activity within the specific subject area.

II. Work Experience (Knowledge, Skills and Behavior)

 Ability or definite promise in teaching, research, extension, and/or another scholarly or

creative activity.
 Potential for directing teaching, research, graduate study, or extension activities.
 Ability and willingness to participate in university affairs.
 An M.Tech degree with relevant professional experience

KNOWLEDGE
Teaching & Learning

 To design and develop overall curricula, and deliver a range of lectures

 Teaching students as per syllabus & ordinance of the university.
 Organizing & conducting lectures/tutorials/practical. Timely finishing the
syllabus
 Maintenance of discipline & order during classes and also till the time the next
teacher comes for taking the class. Preparation of lesson plans, tutorial sheet
 Maintenance of discipline & order during classes and also till the time the next
teacher comes for taking the class. Evaluation of students and monitoring
their conduct, discipline & behavior.
 Maintenance of proper documentation. Proper documentation/record of
students
 To transfer knowledge including practical skills, methods and techniques

Research & Development

 Involvement of faculty in R&D projects. Current research project of faculty.

 To challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to
engage in critical discourse and rational thinking. Involvement of faculty in
guiding the students for their research projects.
 To write or contribute to publications or disseminate research finding/Writing
research paper & books.
 Attending/organizing faculty development programme in the
department/institute
