TRANSLATION

Lord Kapila continued: My dear mother, it is sometimes said that we experience hell or heaven on this

planet, 🌗 for hellish punishments are sometimes visible on this planet also.

PURPORT

Sometimes unbelievers do not accept these statements of scripture regarding hell. They disregard such
authorized descriptions. Lord Kapila therefore confirms them by saying that these hellish conditions are
also visible on this planet.

🌗🌗 It is not that they are only on the planet where Yamarāja lives. On the planet of Yamarāja, the

sinful man is given the chance to practice living in the hellish conditions which he will have to endure in
the next life, and then he is given a chance to take birth on another planet to continue his hellish life. For
example, if a man is to be punished to remain in hell and eat stool and urine, then first of all he practices
such habits on the planet of Yamarāja, and then he is given a particular type of body, that

of a hog, so that he can eat stool and think that he is

enjoying life. It is stated previously that in any hellish condition, the conditioned soul thinks he is happy.
Otherwise, it would not be possible for him to suffer hellish life.
Lecture:-

1. Sometimes the hellish conditions appear here in this planet also.. Then Prabhupada has given an
example that such hellish descriptions are not fantacies but it is practical eg suppose one person is
very sinful then he is to be given a hog body then he must be trained to eat stool and urine so this
training is done in the hellish planets.
2. In this earthly planet we all see this hellish conditions like hogs eating stool.
3. Once upon a time Indra was cursed to become a hog then Lord Brahma called him back but he
refused to go back as he told I have to take care of my hog family .. So this is the power of illusion
that hog thinks that he is enjoying... Otherwise it is not possible to suffer such hellish conditions for
him

jantur vai bhava etasmin
yāḿ yāḿ yonim anuvrajet
tasyāḿ tasyāḿ sa labhate
nirvṛtiḿ na virajyate
The living entity, in whatever species of life he appears, finds a particular type of satisfaction in
that species, and he is never averse to being situated in such a condition.

So this is because of illusion of अअअअअअअअअअअअ अअअअअ ⛺ the jiva are na-not;

virajyate-is averse. he is never averse to being situated in such a condition. So it requires a divine
intervention to come out of such condition
5. SB 3.30.5
naraka-stho 'pi dehaḿ vai

nārakyāḿ nirvṛtau satyāḿ
deva-māyā-vimohitaḥ
The conditioned living entity is satisfied in his own particular species of life; while deluded by the
covering influence of the illusory energy, he feels little inclined to cast off his body, even when in
hell, for he takes delight in hellish enjoyment.

6. Once I was reading beyond birth and death and one point about material civilization hit me and the
effect of avarnatmika Shakti on me got cracked by the spiritual potency by Srila Prabhupada and i
joined iskcon after this.
7. apetite for wonder ,the making of the scientist. This title is quite appropriate.. To make a
spiritualist it requires an intense appetite to know the actual truth...
8. So we are such involved in this material world that we just want to know what all details are present
here... So similar intensity to know and willingness to sacrifice anything to know that absolute truth
is present in the brahmana...
9. So intense spiritual appetite is there in Brahmana and Everyday he improves in his spiritual
realisation
10. A Brahmana Everyday wants to become advance in spiritual realization.
11. To be a spiritualist it requires an intense such spiritual appetite.
12. For such spiritual advancement, a regulation is must.
13. When you have regulation then you have Civic behaviour.
14. Vedas gives direction for such regulations
15. Material creation gives you anxiety. One report says last quarter 240 crores profit the IT company
made but still they have sleepless night nexuses last because their competitor have made more
profit.
16. Not to be anxious to be honored by others is called humility,,, to run after name, Fame and glory is
big weed in devotional service... Willingness to sacrifice such name and Fame is the symptoms of
spiritualist and he will be saved from such deception and cheatings of illusory energy
17. An expert grammarian in sanskrit looks for the dhatu of the word and explains it, similarly the real
spiritualist sees the dhatu as the supreme lord in everything and explains it in relationship to Lord.
18. Lamentation :- spiritualst must be free from it
19. Thinking that there is anything beyond the absolute truth is also an illusion..
20. Our anartha will come out so we should immediately start working on it.. And by Nityananda and
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's mercy such ignorance can be removed
21.

Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Nityānanda Prabhu drive away the five kinds of ignorance of the conditioned
souls. In the Mahābhārata, Udyoga-parva, Forty-third Chapter, these five kinds of ignorance are
described. They are (1) accepting the body to be the self, (2) making material sense gratification one's
standard of enjoyment, (3) being anxious due to material identification, (4) lamenting and (5) thinking
that there is anything beyond the Absolute Truth. The teachings of Lord Caitanya eradicate these five
kinds of ignorance. Whatever one sees or otherwise experiences one should know to be simply an
exhibition of the Supreme Personality of Godhead's energy. Everything is a manifestation of Kṛsṇ ̣ a.
