This is a sonnet written by my sister. The poem has so much value and eloquence that I
would be patronizing it by merely trying to explain why it’s so beautiful. My sister wrote this
poem last year for a class with the intent of showing people that the presidential candidate
Donald Trump was not someone to be looked up to. You can see this briefly in the line where
she says, “You’re fired!” referencing the TV show “The Apprentice”. Instead of getting her
message across about Donald Trump, many overlooked the intended meaning about him. The
final line was inspired by the song “Land of the Living” by Rue Panes. This poem applies very
well to insecurities in society today.
