CRICKET
The origins of cricket lie somewhere in the Dark Ages - probably after the Roman Empire,
almost certainly before the Normans invaded England, and almost certainly somewhere in
Northern Europe. All research concedes that the game derived from a very old, widespread and
uncomplicated pastime by which one player served up an object, be it a small piece of wood or
a ball, and another hit it with a suitably fashioned club. Since then matches between

England and Australia, called The Ashes, have been the highlight of cricket
competition. Other participants in Test matches include South Africa, the West
Indies, New Zealand, India, and Pakistan. The ruling body for the Test matches is
the International Cricket Conference, founded in 1909 as the Imperial Cricket
Conference.The year of the first official championships between the counties in
England is recognized in 1890. In 1904 the M. C. C. formed the Advisory County
Cricket Committee, which has dealt with every aspect of this major English
contest since.The Women’s Cricket Association was founded in England in 1926.
Women compete on an amateur basis. In 1958 the International Women’s Cricket
Council was formed. The awards have honoured some of the biggest names in
men's and women's international cricket. Each award is voted for by a specially
selected panel, which this year consists of former players, respected members of
the media and an elite umpire and match referee. Coach Education
Winners to be nominated for the Sky Sports Awards, 2017/18.

coach who has contributed to cricket coaching and created a legacy through
development of coaching , and innovation that has increased coaching activity
and player participation
 BASKETBALL
A game that started with eighteen men in a YMCA gymnasium in Springfield,
Massachusetts, has grown into a game that more than 300 million people play
worldwide. The man who created this instantly successful sport was Dr. James
Naismith. Under instructions from the head of physical education at the School
for Christian Workers, Naismith was given two weeks to invent an indoor game
that would provide an “athletic distraction” for a rowdy class through the brutal
New England winter. His creation didn’t come easily. His first intention was to
bring outdoor games such as soccer and lacrosse indoors. These games proved to
be too physical and cumbersome The game consists of four periods of 10
minutes.If the scores are tied, overtime periods of five minutes will be played
until one team has more points than the other (at the end of the 5-minute period)
A basket scored from near the basket (inside the three-point arc) is worth two
points.A basket scored from far (beyond the three-point arc) is worth three
points.A basket scored from the free-throw line is worth one pointA technical foul

Delaying the game by deliberately touching the ball after it passes through the
basket or by preventing a throw-in from being taken promptly Falling down to
fake a foul. Hanging on the ring in such a way that the weight of the player is
supported bythe ring, unless a player grasps the ring momentarily following a
dunk shot or, inthe judgement of an official, is trying to prevent injury to himself
or to another player. Goaltending during the last or only free throw by a defensive
player. Theoffensive team shall be awarded 1 point, followed by the technical foul
penaltycharged against the defensive player.
