In the book “Big Fish”, William Bloom tries to learn more about his father, Edward
Blooms, stories. William did not believe that they were true, and was searching for answers.
Edward and William were never very close. Edward would not have an actual conversation
with William, which really bothered William. In the chapter “My Father’s Death: Take 1,” Dr.
Bennett told William “If you have any peace to make with Edward, anything to say at all, I
suggest you say it now.” This indicates that William and Edward did not have much of a
relationship. At the end of the novel, William starts to understand and accept his father more.
