NARRATIVE REPORT ON GAD TRAINING

Topic: Diversity of Learners

May 17-18, 2019

Diversity is the inclusion of different types of people in a group or

organization. Although some diversity within the classroom is obvious,
some forms are not automatically visible. Students come from different
racial, ethnic, religious and linguistic backgrounds as well as different
learning styles, different levels of motivation, and different opinions. As an
educator, it is extremely important to be able to recognize and
accommodate all aspects of diversity and this is the rationale of this GAD
training.

Reading is the area in literacy in which the greatest gains are made.
This is heartening information for those starting out as literacy tutors.
Reading, however, is a very complex skill to develop. Fluent reading is so
automatic that the skilled reader is unaware of the many features
involved.

Learning how to read is one of the most important things a child will
do before the age of 10. That’s because everything from vocabulary
growth to performance across all major subjects at school is linked to
reading ability.

The objectives of this training were the following: evaluate your own
teaching style and integrate it with digital learning pedagogy; plan
activities that promote higher order thinking skills; identify the unique
challenges teaching online presents with regard to time management and
working with students virtually.
Ms. Arlene M. Marasigan, as the proponent and the speaker of
session discussed Diversity of Learners including every stands of Domain
3. The discussions focused on specific questions for teachers and
developmental continuum of practice.

At the end of the session, participants were able to gain and learn
teaching strategies, methods and techniques and improve and integrate
new sets of courses for the development of the competitive and effective
teachers.
