Everyone in the room stood up when the honorable judge appeared. A prayer was read
aloud by the court interpreter. After the judge banged the gavel thrice, everyone of us
sat down and prepared ourselves for the proceedings. The judge then called the
interpreter to call the cases. Silence was maintained in the room and only the lawyers,
interpreter, witness were the only ones allowed to speak before the judge if asked to do
so.

Stage: Trial

The counsels for both parties entered their appearances.

The public prosecutor manifested before the court that the witness that should have
been presented before the court is the chemist who would testify on the chemistry
report marked. However, public prosecutor pointed out a Supreme Court Circular that
the chemist need not testify before the court and that the chemistry report is a
sufficient evidence as it is considered a public document. The judge agreed to the said
manifestation.

The public prosecutor moved for a continuance so that he will be able to present the
exhibit custodian and officer to testify on the chain of custody. Court granted said
motion and ordered for the resetting of the reception of evidence on May 24, 2018.

The public prosecutor moved for the renewal of subpoena duces tecum and subpoena
ad testificandum to SP03 Yparaguirre to bring before the court the chain of custody and
to P01 Boligan to testify on the incident.

The court granted such motion and ordered for the renewal of the said subpoenas to
such police officers.
