The SLOs i used and practiced for this assignment was, being a Critical thinker,
as my first example i read articles from both sides of the argument and chose that
gendered classrooms proved to be more beneficial towards student learning than single
gender classrooms. Another example of being a critical thinker was in the ways i was
able to counter argue using evidence from my research such as, comparing both
classrooms testing scores, graduation rates that i found from the article “Gender-typed
behaviors and achievements” by Carlos E. Santos. Lastly, i was a critical thinker by
being able to defend my position with statistics that demonstrate from educational
experience that provided better academic results in gendered classrooms.
This assignment has helped in working on my SLO for a critical thinker in the way that i
was able to create an argument with a more open mind towards both sides. It also
assisted in me thinking more logically before bringing in a more emotional response.
I believe i still need to improve on my organization skills. i have a small problem on
remembering a few things and usually have it slip from my mind a lot but other than that
i believe im good at what this assignment had presented to me. This skill will be used in
the future by allowing me to continue to think in a more logical sense before arguing in a
emotional response
