Hi Lucy,
How are you? The Easter holidays are going to start next month.
I’ve got a lot of plans. I think the holiday will be great!
I’m going to visit Oscar, my friend from Asturias. I’m going to
stay for a week. He lives near the coast but I don’t think we will
go to the beach because it isn’t going to be hot. That’s a pity
because I wanted to go surfing! I imagine it will be hot in the
summer, so perhaps I’ll go surfing then.
We’re going to visit his grandparents, too. They live in the
mountains and we’re going to go rock climbing.

• The affirmative form is be going to + infinitive. • In short answers, we only use the verb be, not going to.

• In the negative form, we add not after be. In informal We never use short forms of be in affirmative short answers.
English, we often use the short form n’t. Yes, I am. (NOT Yes, I’m.)
He is not going to win a medal.

We never use the short form n’t with I’m.
I’m not going to buy a camera. (NOT I amn’t)

• We use be going to for predictions when we
know, when it’s obvious, that something is
going to happen.

• We use will for predictions based on our
opinion or belief.
