Research Statement
I have developed novel architecture for the optimization of the QoS in wireless mobile ad-hoc network using unique NP-complete problem.
The architecture consists of an end–to-end delay and bandwidth estimation systems, admission control and dynamic bandwidth management
system among nodes in wireless adhoc network. It investigates the QoS requirement for streaming video and multimedia by implementing
proper research methods and tools. In my research work, i targeted QoS provisioning in Ad-hoc networks. Ad-hoc networks can be realized
using two configurations of 802.11 MAC protocol, centralized and decentralized modes. To provide QoS, two approaches have been adopted
in the research. Firstly, it Estimates available bandwidth at links in ad-hoc network and then end to end available bandwidth between source
and destination. According to available bandwidth, transmissions are carried out. Secondly, it estimates end-to-end delay in the network
using the estimated bandwidth. The bandwidth and the end-to-end delay knowledge are used to provide QoS using admission control and
dynamic bandwidth management protocol. A modified AODV protocol is used as admission control to achieve cross layer adaption using
the bandwidth and end-to-end delay parameters. It considers 802.11b networks since it can establish centralized and decentralized
architectures. Experiments are conducted to prove firstly that Proposed centralized scheme (with bandwidth and end-to-end delay estimates)
is better than existing Centralized Bellman-Ford algorithm of Existing system is used. Secondly, the proposed distributed scheme (with
bandwidth and end-to-end delay estimates) is better than existing MP-SR (mobility prediction-based stable routing and normal AODV.
Thirdly, having proved proposed Centralized and Distributed schemes are better, it compares proposed distributed and centralized scheme
performance. Further, study is discussed to study effects of large number of nodes on proposed Centralized and Distributed schemes.at
fourth, Effects of the traffic load and channel noise variation on proposed Centralized and Distributed schemes are studied The first phase
of my research is completed by literature survey .it is completed in a period of 6months, but I estimated for this work for 12 months. The
second phase (architecture development, identifying algorithms, resource allocations, implementing, testing and tabulating the test result
was completed in approximately 16 months. Each test took approximately one Month to code and write the results, so the total time for 8
tests is 8 months. Thesis writing, and review of work is taken about 6months. So, Total of 36 months has been taken to complete my research.
initially, I have tested feasibility of 802.11 IEEE standard protocols for data and voice communication. After, I have designed a noble
architecture for optimizing QoS in MANET to estimate bandwidth and to find end to end delay in MANET.these estimations are used to
optimize the QoS in the given MANET. this system architecture is called Network Traffic Measurement Manager. The incorporation of this
architecture has led effective and efficient solutions for data communication in decentralized Mobile Ad-hoc networks. the performance
parameters have been compared between centralized and decentralized mobile ad-hoc networks. The network simulation has been done for
varied network sizes. The model is developed on on.net programming platform and Language being considered is 𝑪 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒑. I have done
Protocol optimization for 𝑄𝑜𝑆 assurance in wireless mobile communication network. In this work, one striking methodology has been
implemented for guaranteeing the end -to-end delay and hence available bandwidth estimation or bandwidth estimation. The results
obtained exhibit that the proposed delay estimation technique and Protocol performs better as less data drop, higher success rate and much
lower network as well as packet delay. Due to varied node characteristics and decentralized nature, the developed system, depicts that the
average delay is higher in decentralized Ad-hoc network. But overall the system can be considered as an optimum solution for QoS oriented
bandwidth estimation. improving QoS provisioning in networks is always a desirable feature. QoS provisioning in MANETS due to their
Ad-hoc nature and varying channel conditions observed at every node is an issue. QoS can be improved by efficient bandwidth utilization
and allocation. A novel bandwidth estimation technique considering varied link-layer conditions is presented. Bandwidth estimation

6|Page
technique proposed enables optimum bandwidth allocation. To support delay sensitive services (e.g. VoIP) on MANETS estimation of an
End-to-End delay is proposed in𝐸𝐷𝐸𝐴𝑁. Using the estimated bandwidth end-to-end delay estimation is carried out in 𝐸𝐷𝐸𝐴𝑁.
Experimental study presented on MANETS operating on the IEEE 801.11 technology proves the network efficiency. Network parameters
like congestion, packet drop rates, bandwidth utilization, throughput, packet success ratio and transmission error rates are considered.
Effects of varying traffic load and inclusion of channel noise on network performance is also presented in the experimental study. Providing
security in MANETS is the future of the work presented here. Security can be provided using cryptographic techniques, trust-based
mechanisms, third party authentication schemes etc. Trust based mechanisms adopting evolutionary algorithms like ant-colony particle
swarm, etc. are adopted by researchers and exhibit a promising future. Evaluating support of bandwidth hungry and delay sensitive
applications like video streaming is another open issue.I am interested to research on QoS optimization and adding security in wireless
networks in 5G and its extension .I have been preparing thesis on optimization of qos in5G wireless network to apply for the research funds

.Teaching Statement
I am view teaching as a significant and rewarding part of my career as a researcher. I have extensive experience in teaching as an instructor
for many courses and as a teaching assistant for several others. The Challenges in instructing graduate and postgraduate students for me is
finding the ways to bring the students down into the nuts and bolts of the course and develop a system level design approach without
squandering their initial enthusiasm from the higher-level discussion. I found that allowing scope in their final thesis/project report, let the
students explore any aspect of the topic of their interest while the tests and programming assignments provided a more hands-on working
knowledge of computer algorithms in real life implementation. I look forward to use my experience. I am well prepared to teach some
segments of the existing curriculum from introductory courses to courses in mobile computing, Databases, Computer Networks, and Data
Communication. At the graduate/postgraduate level. I have developed advanced courses in mobile computing, mobile agents in real-time
systems. I am also teaching digital and analog communication engineering, and introductory courses on wireless network. Although these
courses are basics of my research area, I believe problem solving within the context of research topic is vitally important to communication
and computer network undergraduates /postgraduates /researchers. I have had the good fortune to work and study with some exceptional
Professors during my research, and it is from them that I have adopted much of my teaching style. I aim to make frequent use of examples
and motivate ideas by placing them in context of both their applications and abstract generalizations. I favour a tutorial style of teaching that
mixes lecturing with problem sessions in which students apply the ideas they are learning. This changes lectures from a passive experience
to an interactive one and helps the teacher correct misapprehensions early on before the students tackle homework assignments on their own.
A challenge in this style of teaching is finding appropriate problems in class sessions. For drill-like exercises where students learn to apply
new techniques, I try to devise progressions of successively harder examples. This builds confidence and ensures that students of all levels
are appropriately challenged.
I try to be sensitive to the fact that students come to a course with different backgrounds and skill levels. The challenge is to coach weaker
students while not losing the attention of quicker students. I believe teachers should be a source of encouragement in students’ lives, and
especially so to underrepresented students. Finding a way to do this without making students feel singled out is a challenge. Showing
sensitivity and taking opportunities to mentor students are unobtrusive ways to give under-represented students extra support.
