Topic : Describing the Nature/Characteristic of Animal

Time Allotment : 2 x 40 minutes

I. Core Competences

1. Appreciating and practicing the religious values that students are professed.

responsible, caring ( tolerant and cooperative among each other ), well-mannered and
confident in interacting effectively with the social and natural environments in which they
interact and live.

curiosity on science, technology, art, and culture related to tangible phenomena and events.

4. Attempting, processing, and presenting things in concrete domains (applying, analyzing,


synthesizing, modifying, and constructing) and abstract domains (writing, reading,
calcuting, drawing, and composing) based on what have been learnt at school as well as on
other sources having similar concept of theory.

II. Basic Competence

4.8 Compiling oral and written texts to explain and ask about the nature/characteristic of
animal by noticing the social function, structure of the text, and language aspect correctly
and in context.

4.8.1 Analysing the social function, text structure, and language features of the spoken text in
order to describe the nature/characteristic of animal.

4.8.2 Identifying the information expressed in the text describing about the
nature/characteristic of animal.

4.8.3 Pronouncing correctly some related lexical item/vocabulary expressing related topic
about the nature/characteristic of animal.

IV. LEARNING OBJECTIVES


1. By working in pair, the students are able correctly to analys the social function of the text
about the nature/characteristic of animal.

2. By working in pair, the students are able correctly to identify the information expressed
in the text describing about the nature/characteristic of animal.

3. By working in pair, the students are able to develop the sosial fuction, text structure, and
language aspect mentioned in a spoken or written text about the nature/characteristic of
animal.

4. By working in pair, the students are able correctly to pronuce some related lexical
item/vocabulary expressing related topic about the nature/characteristic of animal.

Title : “Zoo”

Mary : “Hello Nanda, I am so happy that we can come to the zoo today”

Nanda : “Hello. yeah me too. I love seeing all the animals”

Mary : “The tigers look scary, but they are so beautiful”

Nanda : “I like the monkeys, they are so cute”

Mary : “Hi look! This little bird has just landed on my finger. This is cute too”

Nanda : “Yeah, which one do you prefer mammals or birds?”

Mary : “I prefer birds, what about you?”

Nanda : “Honestly, I really like reptiles”

Mary : “Wow that is cool, but I am not sure that they have any reptiles here”

Nanda : “Yes, you are right because I do not see any of it here”
Mary : “Alright then can you help me please to take me a picture with that parrot?”

Nanda : “Okay I will help you. Just wait a moment please!”

Mary : “Alright, thank you Nanda”

Nanda : “You are welcome Mary”
