COURSE DESCRIPTION:

ARSERCH is a Research course, preparatory for architectural thesis; directed towards the preparation of a Thesis Research Proposal
using different quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Its components include the production of thesis proposals,
methodological frameworks directed by each proposal and documentation requirements for the exploration and acquisition of data
needed for the Architectural Thesis Research and Project.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

ARSERCH aims to help students acquire basic research skills and understand the research process applied for architecture. Students
will learn how to apply workable research methods and tools, and develop an effective research methodology in solving design
problems. Students will also acquire skills in developing frameworks for each intended topic of the research proposal. The course will
include discussions on how important research in architecture is both in the macro and micro level of a project. This involves
explorations of the issues, societal problems and

At the end of the term, the students are expected to be able to:
a. Write three (3) research proposals with
b. Apply workable research methods and procedures.
c. Acquire basic research skills for architecture.
d. Obtain a broader framework upon which the requirements and implications of specific research projects are foreseen.
