for educators 2nd Peter 1:4

NIV - Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through
them you may par6cipate in the divine nature, having escaped the corrup6on in the world
caused by evil desires.


RSV - By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, that through these
you may escape from the corrup6on that is in the world because of passion, and become

partakers of the divine nature.

KJV - Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye

might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corrup6on that is in the world
through lust.


LB - And by that same mighty power he has given us all the other rich and wonderful blessings

he promised; for instance, the promise to save us from the lust and roCenness all around us,
and to give us his own character.

We talk a lot about being “Jesus with skin on” in the public schools since we have restricAons
placed on how and what we can say from the front of the classroom. We strive to be like
Jesus and show Jesus in our acAons and words, but if we are doing it all on our own power,

we are doomed to frustraAon. Our Lord has promised that you can parAcipate in His divine
nature through Him and need not try to forge our own way. Let us pray for all ChrisAan
educators in the public school to be partakers of the divine nature.
