SLEEP DEPRIVATION
• Definition- is defined as not obtaining adequate total sleep
• When someone is in a cronic sleep-restricted state they will notice the
excessive day time, sleepines, fatigue, clumsiness, weight gain or weight
loss.
• Also,being sleep depreived affects both brain and cognitive function.
SYMPTOMS/ EFFECTS

• Insufficient sleep affects the body, brain, mood, and cognition function. All
aspects of health can be impacted by sleep deprivation
• Depression
• Weight gain/loss
• Diabetes
• effects: diabetes, the brain, growth, memory/attention
COMMON CAUSE OF SLEEP DEPRIVATION

• Sleep disorders that reduce sleep

• Inadequate sleep hygiene
• Sleep disorder
• Narcolepsy and hypersomnia
