The Little Red Riding Hood

A very good morning to the honourable judges, time keeper, teachers and my fellow
friends. Today, let me tell you a story about “The Little Red Riding Hood”.

There was once a kind little girl who loves to read. She was The Little Red Riding
Hood.

One day, she went to visit her grandma who lived in the village. Her grandma was ill.
As she was on her way to her grandmother’s house, she passed by the BDA library.

“”hmm…maybe I can borrow some books and read interesting stories to grandma!
I’m sure grandma would love to listen to the stories. This could make her feel better
too!”

After she borrowed the books, she read a book as she walked to her grandma’s house. On the
way, she met a stranger. The stranger looked plump, dirty and smelly too!

The stranger asked, “”Hello, little girl. Where are you going?”
The red riding hood looked at the stranger and looked at her book again.

Stranger danger that is the truth,

Don’t talk to stranger that talk to you,
Stranger danger hear what I say,
Stay with your friends and just walk away.

The red riding hood ignored the stranger and walked away. The stranger did not give up. He
followed her from behind. Not long after that, he reached her grandma’s house.
“”knock! Knock!”
“”who’s there?” asked grandma.
“”it’s me. The little girl with a red cape,” said the stranger in a girl’s voice.

“”Hmmm.. something is not right. Red riding hood doesn’t sound like a drunken man,”
grandma thought.
Grandma tiptoed away and quickly hid herself under the bed.
The stranger went into the house but found no one in it. He put on grandma’s clothes and got
into her bed. He waited for red riding hood to arrive.
After a while, there were knocks on the door. It was the red riding hood.
“”knock, knock! Grandma, it’s me, red riding hood.”
The stranger replied, “”Come in, dear.”

Red riding hood entered the house and stood by her grandma’s bed. She looked at her
grandma and thought she looked different.
“”oh. Grandma! What big eyes you have!” red riding hood said.
“”All the better to see you clearly, dear,” replied the stranger.
“”oh, grandma! What big ears you have!” red riding hood said.
“”All the better to hear you clearly, dear,” replied the stranger.
“”Oh. Grandma! What big hands you have!” red riding hood said.
“”All the better to catch you with!” The stranger said and jumped out of the bed.
Red riding hood fell to the ground and struggling to escape from the stranger. As she tried to
escape, she saw what was written in the book “ scream for help when you are in danger.
Red riding hood screamed from the top of her lungs “”Arghhhh!! Help! Help!”
The neighbours from the neighbourhood heard her cries and rushed to help her. They
captured the stranger and phoned the police. Red riding hood and her grandmother were
saved.
This story tells us to beware of strangers, as they may be up to no good. Thank you.
