NATURE OF WORKS UNDERTAKEN BY THE
INSTITUTION/ORGANIZATION
ANNEXURE V

Nature of Work Undertaken By the Institution

Our Institution aims to provide excellence in education through well educated and trained
educationalists. Seminars and conferences are being organized to enlighten our students in the field of
educational opportunities to achieve academic excellence.

Engineering education faces significant challenges as it seeks to meet the demands of the
engineering profession in the twenty-first century. As technology enhanced learning has taken over
the teaching and learning process, the focus is on effective professional development. Technical
capability is also a factor to be reckoned to achieve unique recognition. Technical capability will
come only if the students and researchers pay more attention to practical oriented learning alongwith
theoretical learning.

To instill research culture, industrial connectivity and innovation among students and faculty,
Dr.NGPIT works towards creating employable students with industrial exposure, multi faceted, multi
tasking skills to become all round performers in their career. Industry powered innovative campus
have been established by signing MoU with leading industries like Siemens Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., IIT-
PALS (Pan IIT Leadership Series), Sysnautix Technologies, KEF Infra structure India Private
Limited, Giles Brooker Group, Shankar Associates, Builders Association of India, Coimbatore
institute of Technology-Centre of Excellence in Manufacturing Sciences, Mithran Structures, SG
Structural Engineers, Jass Developers, Archetype Design Services Private Limited, Mangla Smart
Energy Solutions, Lakhshya Cyber Security P Ltd, Helix Pvt Ltd., Bangalore, TMI Systems, Sankar
& Associates, and Builder’s Association of India Oracle Corporation, Cisco Systems Ltd, National
Instruments, Siemens Limited, HCL, SAP, IBM, BSNL, ThinkLabs, Trident Techlabs, Texas
Instruments, CODISSIA, COINDIA, Max Value UTL Technologies Ltd, Pantech Solutions Pvt Ltd,
Coimbatore Productivity Council and AOSTA Software Technologies India Ltd.

In recognition of our outstanding performance and activities related to industry alliances and
collaborations, AICTE sponsored Rs.Ten lakhs to establish Industry Institute Partnership Cell
(IIPC) at our campus. IIPC helps students take up industry oriented innovative projects, internships,
factory visits and other industrial collaboration. The Institute invites industry experts working in
modern engineering fields to interact with students and faculty. Students and faculty members are
also invited for special interaction with eminent speakers from industry and academia and take up
industry funded projects and internships at organizations like IIT Mumbai, CollabNet, Siemens, TCS,
Ramco Systems etc.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) - Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas
Yojana (PMKVY) Centre was established to offer training to youth in Automotive (Mechanical),
Healthcare (Biomedical) and Infrastructure sectors (Electrical and Electronics). National Institute for
Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) has empanelled our institution
under Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (Formerly known as UdyaMita Scheme).
Our college has been recognized as Vocational Training Centre by National Council of
Vocational and Research Training (NCVRT), New Delhi. Dr.NGP IT established Teaching and
Learning Center (TLC) with the objectives of educational excellence, enterprise level instructional
technologies for the advancement of scholarly teaching. Our institution has been selected for
establishing Institution Innovation Council (IIC) under MHRD’s Innovation Cell, New Delhi.
Equipping the laboratories with technically advanced tools can empower the scientific
community. Hence, the effectiveness of the laboratory course in imparting knowledge increases and it
enables the students to absorb the role of individual engineering disciplines and addresses the real
problems. Our institution facilitates innovative techniques to build technical knowledge and
cultivate creativity among students with a scientific attitude, to find out solutions for real time
problems. For this, hands on training sessions are offered in laboratories and in centers of excellence
in association with leading industrial organization.
Industry powered centers provide effective training sessions utilizing innovative teaching aids and
proficient tools designed on present and future trends. The list of Industrial Powered Centers are as
follows :
Dr.N.G.P. IT - INDUSTRY POWERED CENTERS

National Instruments LabVIEW CISCO Networking Academy

Academy
SIEMENS Training Centre Texas Instruments Center
ORACLE Workforce Oracle Academy
Development Program Centre AOSTA Incubation Center
SAP U Academy EMC2 Academic Alliance
Lakhshya Cybersecurity Center

Value added Industry oriented training programs help students become industry ready. The
emerging Engineers and Managers are able to visualize complex problems and come up with
solutions by modeling, simulation and algorithm development approaches. An awareness of the
vital role of tools for designing, prototyping and deploying technical concepts is also delivered to
the emerging technocrat.
The Centre for E - Learning was set up with EDUSAT, NPTEL and Learning Management
System (LMS) in order to promote effective E-learning and to supplement classroom teaching. IIT
Bombay Spoken Tutorial sessions are organized in collaboration with IIT Bombay. In order to
provide high quality remote laboratory access in Science and Engineering disciplines, a Nodal Centre
for VALUE Virtual Lab established in our institution. This is an initiative of the Ministry of Human
Resource and Development, Govt. of India under the National Mission on Education through
Information and Communications Technology (NME-ICT). We have also established Amrita Virtual
Interactive e-learning World (A-VIEW), SWAYAM PRABHA DTH Channel for telecasting high-
quality educational programmes in our campus.
To provide international connectivity and professional growth, the professional societies and
student chapters like IEEE, IEEE-WIE, IETE, CSI, ISTE, SAE, ICI, ACM, CMA, SEEE, ACCE,
IGS, IWS, BAI, IGS and BMESI are established and actively organizing many events towards the
advancement of engineering professionals.
With the continuous effort and preservance, our institution, staff and students received many
research grants, awards from various government, non-government agencies and industries such as
AICTE, Anna University, IEEE, CSIR, ICT Academy of Tamilnadu (ICTACT), National
Instruments, Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), Mahindra Satyam,
CSI, ISTE, DRDO, ICMR, The Institution of Engineers (India), INSA, DST-SERB.
