Duas, or prayers made to Allah (swt), are the key to being a Happy Muslim insha’Allah. Here are
18 beautiful duas directly from our Holy Quran.
“Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us
Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers.” (Al-Qur’an, 7:23)
َسنَا َو ِإن لَّ ْم ت َ ْغ ِف ْر لَنَا َوت َْر َح ْمنَا لَ َن ُكون ََّن ِمنَ ْالخَا ِس ِرين
َ ُظلَ ْمنَا أَنف
َ ( َربَّنَا7:23)
Rabbana thalamna anfusana wain lam taghfir lana watarhamna lanakoonanna mina alkhasireena
2) Dua of Ayyub (Job, A.S) after he was ill for many years:
“Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show
mercy.” (Al-Qur’an, 021.083 (Al-Anbiya [The Prophets])
3) Dua of Ibrahim(Abraham (A.S) and his followers to Allah when dealing with the idol
worshippers:
” Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance,
and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return” (60:4)

ُ صِ َّربَّنَا َعلَيْكَ ت ََو َّك ْلنَا َو ِإلَيْكَ أَنَ ْبنَا َو ِإلَيْكَ ْال َم
“My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!” (28:24)
“Our Lord! Bestow on us mercy from Yourself, and facilitate for us our affair in the right
way!” (18:10)
َ ( َربَّنَا آتِنَا ِمن لَّدُنكَ َرحْ َمةً َوه َِي ْئ لَنَا ِم ْن أَ ْم ِرنَا َر18:10)
شدًا
rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wahayyi lana min amrina rashadan
6) Dua seeking refuge from the shaytaan:
“My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin
(devils). And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they may attend (or come near) me.”
(23:97-98)

ِ َشي ِ ب أَعُوذُ بِكَ ِم ْن َه َمزَ ا
َّ ت ال ِ ( َّر23:97)
“Our Lord! Judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the Best of those who
give judgment.” (7:89)
8) Dua of Yusuf (Joseph, A.S) for Allah to make him die as a muslim:
“The (only) Creator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Wali (Protector, Helper,
Supporter, Guardian, etc.) in this world and in the Hereafter, cause me to die as a Muslim
(the one submitting to Your Will), and join me with the righteous.” (12:101)
fatira alssamawati waalardi anta waliyyee fee alddunya waalakhirati tawaffanee musliman
waalhiqnee bialssaliheena
“La ilaha illa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified (and
Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the
wrong-doers.” (21:87)
26:83 My Lord! Bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;
26:87 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected;
26:88 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,
11)Dua of the new beleivers whom Pharaoh was threatening to torture for their belief:
“Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims.” (7:126)
12) Dua of Musa (Moses, A.S) for good speech, when he was sent by Allah to Pharaoh:
“And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from
my speech)
“That they understand my speech,” (20:25-28)

13)Dua of Talut (Saul) and his army for victory over Jalut(Goliath) and his forces:
“Our Lord! Pour forth on us patience and make us victorious over the disbelieving
people.” (2:250)
َعلَى ا ْلقَ ْو ِم ا ْلكَافِ ِرين ُ صب ًْرا َوثَبِتْ أَ ْقدَا َمنَا َوان
َ ص ْرنَا َ علَ ْي َنا ْ ( َربَّنَا أ َ ْف ِر2:250)

15) Dua of Pharaoh’s wife when she was being tortured by Pharaoh:
“Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the
reckoning will be established.” (14:41)
اب
ُ س َّ َربَّنَا ا ْغ ِف ْر ِلي َو ِل َوا ِلد
َ َي َو ِل ْل ُمؤْ ِمنِينَ يَ ْو َم يَقُو ُم ا ْل ِح
“Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive
unto You, and show us our Manasik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage – Hajj and ‘Umrah,
etc.), and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most
Merciful.” (2:128)
18. Conclusion
Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they
attribute unto Him!
And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that
exists). (37: 180-182)
