 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Mobile printing now has a new meaning. So, on that case HP is planning to release a
portable printer for the smartphone generation. At the same time, customer complaint was also
taken in consideration which was the connection issues and the sizes issues. Some of the
connection issue is that the USB cable does not connected properly to the photo printer, the USB
cable is visibly not able to detect the smartphone to transfer the file directly to the photo printer
and the USB cable can also be broken in a short period of time because of hanging the cable far
away from the photo printer. Other than that, sizes issues also a problem received from customers
which it is not easy to carry around for use on the go. So, from those problem, HP has come up
with two solutions to overcome with this problem which is 3.0 cable photo printer and the wireless
Bluetooth photo printer which uses Bluetooth connection to print the photo directly from the
smartphones. Some criteria such as charging speed, pictures size supported, durability, quantity of
user that can connect to the photo printer at one time, price, customer preference and sizes of photo
printer are highlighted in order to make the comparison between cable photo printer and wireless
photo printer to find out which is the most suitable photo printer to be produce in order give the
best product to the customer.
 INTRODUCTION

When it comes about printing social media photos from a smartphone on the go, it has
never been easier. In an HP blog post, Sarah Murray, managing editor at HP newsroom, wrote,
"HP envisions the new device finding popularity with teenagers and millennials who are drawn to
fun, stylish gadgets that might be a hit at social events." The post continues to say that "fun-seekers
might be taking selfies or looking at social media posts that they would like to print out, share and
take home with them". For most smartphone users, they wish to have a portable photo printer that
enable them to print photo directly from the smartphone and can easy to carry around for use on
the go. Wireless Bluetooth photo printer uses Bluetooth to connect the smartphone to the photo
printer that can work on either Android or iOS devices. With this device, smartphone user can print
photos that they have taken directly. Photo printer without cables allows user to carry around for
use on the go. No more hassle trying to get the favourite or cherished pictures onto a computer. No
more emails or waiting until get back home. It enable user to easily print photos from smartphone
and it also comes equipped with a rechargeable battery that allows user to print up pictures in a
single charge without having to worry about diminishing battery life. Once those uses run out, it
can re-charge the device in just 60 to 80 minutes.

Beyond printing pictures on the go, the wireless photo printer is also great for travel because
it is compact. The pocket-sized picture printer travels with user and easily fits into any bag without
weighing user down or taking up too much space. Compactness is an important property for
modern electronics, and the portable photo printer gives user a small, easy-to-handle without
sacrificing quality. The Bluetooth connectivity of the sleek device, along with its ease of use, make
the wireless photo printer a great choice for anyone who wants to have a fun and exciting way to
take their pictures or selfies to the next level. Nevertheless, USB has become a standard for
connecting power to portable device such as photo printer. But there are many issues related with
USB cable especially its connection issues. To overcome this issues, we come up with USB 3.0
cable photo printer which is USB 3.0 is the latest revision of the Universal Serial Bus standard
released. This new standard offers increased transfer rates up to 4.8Gbps, increased maximum bus
power, improved power management, and new connectors and cables that facilitate the higher
transfer speeds and additional power.
 With the growing importance of camera performance to smartphone makers and users,
manufacturers have worked hard to add features and to improve image quality. With this growth,
users wish to have a portable photo printer to keep their photo as memories easily. The
improvement quality of photo printer is need to meet customer satisfaction by adding additional
improvement to the product designs. In response to this problem, our study proposes to investigates
several option for making the best photo printer for our customer to print the photo using our new
product’s design. We also have a deep research and discussion into options for the best type of
printing method for the new product. Hence, we have chosen between these two methods which
are cable printing or wireless printing in order to ensure customer’s satisfaction towards our
product and brand.
