CONCLUSION

In this paper, presents a fully automated ischemia lesion segmentation method based on fully
convolutional neural network. The DWI, ADC and T2WI are used as input, and a very deep
CNN is built and efficiently trained thanks to the residual structure. The proposed Res-FCN
network presents a high segmentation accuracy on the clinical MRI images with a dice
coefficient of 0.645. More importantly, it presents very low false negatives, with a mean
number of 1.515 per subject, which is of paramount importance in avoiding misdiagnosis in
clinical scenario.
