Parish-Wide Novena to

Saint Thomas the Apostle

Join us in nine days of scriptural prayer medita ng on the life of Saint
Thomas the Apostle, for the renewal of our parish and for our own deep‐
ening faith! Our first‐ever parish‐wide novena will begin Friday June 24th
and conclude on the vigil of the Feast of St Thomas on July 2nd.

A novena is a prayer that is prayed for nine days in a row for a special in‐
ten on. Our patron Saint Thomas, par cipated in the first‐ever novena,
the nine days the Apostles spent in prayer from the Ascension of Jesus to
Pentecost and the descent of the Holy Spirit!
Day One:  Friday, June 24th 
Like Thomas, we have been chosen by Jesus Christ.
Read and reflect on the Gospel of Luke 6:12‐16 
Turn to prayerful medita on 
Lord Jesus, help me to believe that you have chosen me. 

Lord Jesus, what have you chosen me for?

Day Two:  Saturday, June 25th 
Like Thomas, we are called to follow Jesus with reckless abandon.
Read and reflect on the Gospel of John 11:1‐16 
Turn to prayerful medita on 
Lord Jesus, teach me to trust in you today. 

Lord Jesus, do I willingly follow wherever you lead?

Day Three: Sunday, June 26th 
Like Thomas, our hearts long to stay close to Jesus.
Read and reflect on the Gospel of John 14:1‐6 
 

Turn to prayerful medita on 

Lord Jesus, give me a greater desire for heaven. 

Lord Jesus, in my life are you the way, truth, and life?

Day Four:  Monday June 27th 
Like Thomas, we struggle with doubt.
Read and reflect on the Gospel of John 20:19‐25

Lord Jesus, I do believe‐ help my disbelief. 

Lord Jesus, where are you calling me to deeper faith?

Day Five:  Tuesday, June 28th 
Like Thomas, our hearts languish un l we encounter the Risen Christ.

Lord Jesus, how can I honor you as Lord and God today?

Day Six:  Wednesday, June 29th 
Like Thomas, we doubt God’s work in us and our ability to evangelize.

Day Seven:  Thursday, June 30th 
Like Thomas, we have been promised an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Read and reflect on the Acts 1:6‐11

Lord Jesus, you promised us power to be your witnesses. 

Lord Jesus, does the Holy Spirit really empower me to do your will?

Day Eight: Friday, July 1st 
Like Thomas, we are invited to receive more of the Holy Spirit.
